Dec. 30: What's on HDTV today

What we're watching:

The quiet season continues though the holidays, making it tough to find fresh new high-def content. Tonight we're going to make a choice at the last minute between peaceful bliss or brute force at 8 p.m.

For those that want to relax at 8 p.m., tune in to INHD2 for an IMAX presenation of "The Living Sea" in 1080i. Underwater scenery just blows me away on a high-quality HDTV set that's properly calibrated. The rough crowd can flip one notch away over at INHD for some heavyweight boxing. David Tua takes on Cisse Calif in this 10-rounder from Hollywood, Florida. If you watch this one, just be sure to pronounce Calif's first name properly; he doesn't like being called a "sissy."
