Joystiq on hand at WCG East Coast Regional finals

Joystiq went ahead and hung out at the World Cyber Games East Coast Regional finals today in New York City. Held at the Samsung store in Columbus Circle, gamers participated Saturday in Counter-Strike, FIFA, and DOA4.

Besides seeing some of the best players show off their skills, the set up was actually pretty nice because there were Xbox 360s at different stations in the store where you could play DOA4, Halo 2, PGR, or Geometry Wars on the sweet Samsung set ups.

In the Counter-Strike finals, [f2]Fearfactor (pictured) took on ViGor, with [f2] coming out the victor after a few overtime rounds. Both teams, however, will be headed to Vegas for the U.S. finals. In FIFA, Juan Alvarado beat Greg Shevach and in DOA4, Michael Saunders took out Paul Michael.

If you happen to live near Vegas, I suggest you swing by and check out the finals Sept. 15-17. And, if you happen to live in New York City, events will continue on Sunday for the final day of the East Coast Regional finals with gamers battling in Warcraft III and Starcraft.
