TGS demo, Fuzion Frenzy 2! [update 1]

We haven't checked out the rest of today's TGS content yet, because the first thing we saw was the Fuzion Frenzy 2 demo! We're downloading it right now (293 MB). Impressions will be up once we play it.

Update: See our impressions of the demo after the break.

We've downloaded the demo and managed to play a few rounds. The demo offers 3 minigames and allows up to four players to compete -- and also happens to have a Bill & Ted worthy soundtrack. The first game, Conveyor Belt Chaos, has each player moving crates back to his or her base using what amounts to a futuristic forklift. Conveniently, the forklift can also deliver a paralyzing shock to other players. You can steal crates from other players' bases if you so desire. We found it difficult to cram more than nine crates into our own base.

The second game, Sumo Paint, has players rolling around in American Gladiators style cages. Rolling over a section of ground paints it your color. The idea, obviously, is to paint as much of the field in your color as possible. Get knocked off the side and you lose precious time.

The third and final game, Ice Treasure Hunt, has players searching for coins inside blocks of ice. What better way to get coins out of the ice than a flame thrower? Of course, if you're like us, you'll probably spend more time lighting the competition on fire than looking for silly coins. Our advice, let someone else melt the ice, torch that person, and then steal his hard earned prize.

You can scroll through the entire list of minigames if you like, though only the above three are playable (on a personal note, I'm happy to report that my favorite -- the Tron-like Tail Blazer -- is back). Like we said, the demo allows four player local multiplayer so, grab some friends and have at it.
