Pretec 4GB i-Disk Touch USB flash drive with biometric security
Just in case you've got a lot of data
that you need to carry around and keep secure, Pretec is rolling out a 4GB flash drive that includes biometric security.
The i-Disk Touch includes a "stripe" fingerprint reader to keep the form-factor down, and allows file and
directory-level encryption, along with the ability to act as a security key to lock a PC.

Pretty neat, but just how secure is it? Chances are it's something you'd carry at all times anyway. If someone's desparate enough to get the files on it that they're willing to mug you for it, they're probably willing to grab your finger and stick it on the scanner too.
I would be worried if i locked my computer with that thing... i know too many people who have broken USB flash drives one way or another...
even if they steal it they can still sell it with no problems on ebay and just forget about the "finger" part
What im scared of is if a Thief follows you around and then kills you and then cuts your Finger off and then erases the data and sells it one ebay

my english good? or bad? ha!
Nice enhancement to a device gaining in traction and popularity. To the naysayers, sure if someone wants to steal the data they can -with enough effort, but for most folks it's a little added piece of mind if they misplace this along with 'personal' photo collectionb ;-)
This is not the first biometric usb flash drive. I had a biodisk and apparently, you can unlock/format it using its serial number.
