For all the
fanfare IBM and Sony's Cell processor has gotten as the
savior of mankind, we haven't seen it given much chance to shine. Apple skipped over it in favor of a whole platform move to Intel, and Sony has been slow to get even developer
units of their PS3 out the door. So we're left with the server market and IBM to finally get a shipping Cell product
out. At 470 pounds, we can see why Apple was concerned about price per watt, and we can only hope that Sony isn't
planning a 470 pounder for their final design of the PS3, otherwise this is just a Dual Cell Blade server doing it's
thing.
