Clear Channel brings HD Radio good times to NY and SF

That certain subset of the population that owns one of the .05 devices available for HD Radio, and lives within range of New York or San Francisco airwaves, can party down starting now. Clear Channel is launching 10 multicast HD Radio channels in those markets, with plans to roll out 15 more stations in Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles over the next five days. The multicast channels allow for multiple content streams, but while the new stations will be commercial free, the choices for programming aren't really much to write home about; including "urban oldies," disco, gospel, Hispanic, country, and traditional jazz. We guess this'll be a good time for us to bite the bullet and "broaden our horizons," but if you catch us singing along to "Si tú ya no me quieres" please just put us out of our misery.
