"U R ACEPTD" says Creighton to prospective students

As much as we enjoy using SMS for Web 2.0 tomfoolery and pursuing dead end relationships, the fact is that SMS gets the job of notification done real quick-like, and to that end Creighton University has started sending out acceptance text messages to prospective high school students. Looks like it's a hit with the kids, with 44 percent of them choosing to wade through a few "OMG" and "UR GR8"-based communications from friends for a chance to be notified of their acceptance a week early. Hopefully next they'll start moving the applications to text messaging, since that 160 character SMS size restriction would really come in handy on those lame essays they made us write.
