New guitar phone interface patented by Motorola

We're bad enough at the guitar in its daunting, 6-string, fleshly version that we fear a virtual phone-based edition might truly do us in, but Motorola seems to be cooking up just such a device, at least according to some patents that have recently surfaced. We can't quite figure out how it works, seems that the keys are used for strumming, and a sort of control knob selects the chords. Luckily you can switch up your tone to a violin or banjo in hopes of confusing your pals into thinking you're rocking out. It'll be our little secret.
