Spring Nextel and AP team up to submit news via EV-DO

Looks like the Associated Press is wising up a bit and has decided to replace some of their "large windowless van" wireless tech with EV-DO cards from Sprint Nextel. The plan is for reporters to make 60 second video clips which can then be uploaded over EV-DO in around 10 minutes. They're using some sort of proprietary "SNAPfeed" software that makes sure: "video at a breaking news site is only four clicks away from transmission." They can also toss up pictures and audio clips to fill out their reports. Sounds great guys, but we'll just keep it it hush hush that we've been using EV-DO to liveblog and for other such news-ish activities since we were in Huggies 'cause we're not getting some sort mutual PR puff piece out of it.
