Well wouldn't you know it? Last week
Engadget China had a reader meetup of their very own out Hong Kong way. We really do wish we could have been there to hang out, but it looks like the situation was firmly in hand without us sad American sacks starting to wax poetic about how much we love our readers the world over. As always, much love for our Chinese colleagues and readership, we'll be seeing you real soon.
Check out the Hong Kong escapades
here,
here, and finally,
here.

Reminds me of Mister Roboto from the Playa Hata's Ball Skit.
Ypocaramel @ Jul 4th 2006 12:22AM
Now if I wasn't too lazy to read Chinese, I'd actually know what was going on around me.
Jimbolaya @ Jul 4th 2006 2:40AM
Is that a Kowloon cafe near TST?
Jonathan Fung @ Jul 4th 2006 2:58AM
It sort of looks like a Cafe de Coral. But then again, if all the pictures are from the same place, it definitly isn't. But yeah, its in Kowloon. (Haha, thank me for stating the obvious).
Doesn't look like there are too many Engadget readers in HK that showed up. But the good news is that there were 2 white T630 phones out of those few people. I got one of those, and use it not only here in the states, but also when I go to Hong Kong. Works beautifully.
Well, I would also assume they did it in a pretty rich shopping district since they had a picture of the Vertu. Then again everyone in Hong Kong has a uber phone.

Jervis @ Jul 4th 2006 9:20PM
I'm from Hong Kong and I was pretty disappointed that there was an engadget meet up here that I didnt know about... Until I saw this pic! dang!!! I wouldn't wanna be seen hanging with these geeks men! The only girls they will ever get are the ones in their harddrive! Now how about a cool Hong Kong engadget meet up?
Dan @ Jul 4th 2006 11:11PM
The point of the meetup is to talk about certain issues and have discussion of todays technology and what not and have fun. Not to necessarily pick up girls... The only sad thing here is that half you guys didnt or don't realize that.. if you want to meet up or be with girls just go to a club ya retards..
Scott @ Jul 4th 2006 11:26PM
If anyone hasn't already, go to the Various other Engadgets and Translate them using Google Translator. Its Hilarious! here is a sample from Engadget Chinese
"If you want to wait to prevent the living room of their home not more importantly, to build 50,000 in the year Christmas HD DVD broadcasting devices The Xbox 360, which we should disappointed!"
David Thapa @ Jul 4th 2006 11:30PM
