New HD-themed magazines for cable subscribers

We came across a neat little blurb on HDTV Buyer mentioning some new publications from Tribune Media Services for cable provider-themed magazines, one covering digital television in general, and the other focusing on high definition. The first, to be called Resolutions, will combine a guide to programming with some informational content about digital TV and celebrity news, and the second will be called 16:9 Magazine. While we can always debate whether pillarboxed content is truly HD, or if only original widescreen content can be called high-def, 16:9 will be released quarterly, and will cover programming and technology, with some editorial content as well. Since these magazines are designed to be co-branded by the cable companies, and are affiliated with Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Charter, and Insight, it remains to be seen how much of them will be fluff and advertisements, and how much will actually be useful and helpful information.

Of course all of the hip and wise customers are already reading HD Beat *cough*, but if the cable companies put out an info-mag like this, do you think it will be helpful to the other estimated 80 - 85% of the United States that don't already have HD programming? What other ways would you recommend to reach consumers besides commercials on TV or signs in your local electronics store?
