Males prefer to play as females in online gaming?

Though gender-bending has been around for years especially with actors and authors, a majority of online gaming males may prefer playing as lady folk. The Associated Press writes: "In an informal survey conducted with 64 males, more than half [as compared with virtually no female gamers playing as males] said choosing a female character gave them a distinct gameplay advantage... 'They'd rather look at a character that looks like Lara Croft than a character that looks like Rambo.'"

The article also explores the playing habits of one Freeman Williams (pictured), a dentist from Houston who plays City of Heroes as a female saying he voice acts "as much as [his] male voice will allow." Do you gender-bend during online play? If so, how come?
