EA chief backs up $170 price rumor...kinda

A real Kryptonian hearing aid.

Executive VP and COO of EA's worldwide studios David Gardner recently backed up claims of a $170 equivalent price for the console in Japan. Citing that he "heard in Japan that the price is about $170," David Gardner has little in the way of concrete evidence to be submitting this information to GamesIndustry.biz. Either that, or he's just regurgitating what the recent financial report from NikkoCitigroup stated.

So what does this mean? Nothing, absolutely nothing. Now, we're all sick and tired of hungrily biting at every little morsel of meat that is dangled in front of us, but this dry spell has made us all the more susceptible to these kind of "he said, she said" stories. Hopefully, with this week's keynote at the Leipzig Games Convention and the unveiling of new titles for the console, we won't have to be this way anymore and Nintendo will finally provide us with the sustenance we've so desperately needed these past few months.
