Strategy guides make gaming more difficult?
The wrinkly gamers at 2old2play explore how strategy guides might in fact make video games more difficult as opposed to their apparent design of making games easier. From the article: "Call me cynical, but it seems to me that it's become standard practice these days for developers to put secrets into games that are next to impossible to find without the official strategy guide next to you. One example that I hear about time and time again is from Final Fantasy X – finding the character's Celestial Weapons."
The author basically suggests the cooperation of game developers and strategy guide publishers to achieve high margin print sales alongside that of games. So what say ye, Joystiqees? Do strategy guides make gaming more difficult?
