Is YouTube going high-def?

Intel's CEO Paul Otellini has looked into his crystal ball and foresees every ones favorite video sharing site will going high-def sometime in the near future. He is basing this production on the minimal processing power necessary to view the current YouTube streams and the fact HD cams are sub $1k now. We for a few would love to see mass HD content distributed on the Internet but we just don't see the webcam community of YouTube footing the bill necessary to make YouTubeHD necessary but if Mr. Otellini is offering to pick up the tab that would be a different story.
