Guildwatch: Hot off the Gruul

You guys really had it out for Gruul this week-- we've got two guilds here that finished him off, and I'm sure they're not the only ones. Anyway, it's Tuesday, time for your weekly roundup of happenings and circumstances in guilds around the World of Warcraft. We've got reader submitted downings, drama, and recruiting notices for your pleasure.

And if you've got a tip of your own, drop in our inbox ASAP: wowguildwatch@gmail.com. Show off your guild to the world.. or, y'know, just us. This week's GW starts when you click the link below.

DRAMA

  • An anonymous member of Natural Selection on Spinebreaker-A says guild leader Sapho "continues to single-handedly destroy the guild" by, among other things, ninja-inviting terrible players. Inviting terrible players is one thing, but ninja-inviting them? Harsh.

  • This one's good. An anonymous tipper sends us a comment buried deep in this Elitist Jerks forum thread: Xi of Death and Taxes basically calls out Nihilum (and Awake in particular) for overusing consumables to get through raid content. We've talked about consumables before, but Xi is basically saying that Nihilum wouldn't get as far as they were if they didn't use consumables. The thread only gets better from there-- lots of fun guild-to-guild flaming.

  • Sadhus of the Smoke on Shadow Council-A is dissolving, although it's not that dramatic-- the three leaders are stepping down, and wrapping up the guild as they go. Come on guys, the least you could do is clear out the guild bank or something! A bunch of former members are trying to reform the guild as Sovereign Souls.

  • True Blues and Here nor There on Gilneas-H have merged.

  • Necessary Roughness on Ravencrest-A is accused by a former member of "favoritism": two people joined up, one got promoted and one got "put in timeout" (yeah, not sure how that works either). Anyway, the person that got promoted left, and the guild's leaders blamed the person in timeout for their leaving (apparently they're in need of a tank, and the promotee was one). The guild says the anonymous member is lying. Sweet, sweet guild drama.

DOWNED

  • Eternity on Drenden-A has dropped Gruul! (and I don't mean off at the drug store for some ice cream) Screenshot above, it's a server first!

  • Juggernaut on Arathos-A downed Maiden of Virtue and Moroes. And they didn't have a single paladin with them.

  • Ihulm on Durotan-A downed... Anachronos?

  • Infliction on Draenor-H finished off High King Maulgar.

  • The Unholy Legion on Kalecgos-H killed Gruul, also for a server first.

RECRUITING

  • The Guild (winner of this week's Best Guild Name award-- not for originality, but just for singular honesty) is a friendly, "awesome" guild on Quel'dorei that's looking to help out new players.

  • Antediluvians are a group of guys who came from Matrix Online to start their guild on Thorium Brotherhood-H. If you're a former MxO player or just want a good guild, look them up.

  • Structured Insanity on Medivh-A is looking for players to come with them past Karahzan.

  • Night Owls on Bonechewer-A are looking for late night raiders (they roll from 8PM - 2AM)

  • The Arisen on Azgalor-A want to fill out their second Karazhan run: they need all classes, but only want prot warriors, resto druids, and holy priests and paladins. Other classes will be specced according to needs. You might think that's a lot for them to ask, but they've already finished off half the instance.

  • Chaos on Baelgun-A wants rogues, priests and paladins to raid 3 days a week with a close-knit guild.

Big thanks to all of our tippers, both anonymous and known! If you've got info for GW-- either a downed, drama, or recruting, drop an email to wowguildwatch@gmail.com, and you'll see it here next week.
