Guildwatch: Drama, in comic form

I think the picture above is like the best thing I've ever seen in putting this column together-- a member of the guild has actually put their drama in stick figure comic form. That's only two panels of it, actually-- click on the pic above to read the whole, awesome thing.

And click on the link below to get your weekly fix of guild drama, downings, and recruiting notices. If you want your guild to appear here (or know of one that should), just drop an email to wowguildwatch@gmail.com. We're also asking for funny GMOTDs this week (make sure to read the note at the bottom of this week's column). Click on, clickers!

DRAMA

  • Is there trouble in Death and Taxes? A tipster sends word that Aspe, a lock who used to be in D&T, has joined a small guild on Korgath named Anujit's Magic Carpet. And Anujit, in case you're not familiar with the membership rolls of the world's best guilds (and if you are, you nerd), is a priest in Death and Taxes. I'm guessing it's just an inside joke, but maybe D&T is experiencing expansion drama just like the rest of us.

  • Jerk Alert (which is only a little different from a Ninja Alert): Linuz on Azjol-Nerub (EU) has been pulling the old "take gold for enchants but don't actually enchant anything" trick. Clickers beware.

  • Triad on Crushridge-H did something fun: A Blood Elf footrace! They all made BE alts with funny names ("most hated condiment or food"), created their own guild (with a pink tabard, of course), and then ran from Sunstrider Isle to Silvermoon to find the guild leader, and then down to Light's Hope. After that, some of them went even farther, and tried to race level 1 alts to the Undercity. Sounds fun-- they say they've got screenshots and I want to see them.

  • Reader Bradley Nash sends a warning about Brotherhood of Shadows-- they don't help their guildies out, he says (apparently the last straw was an Ulda run where they were so clueless people were dying before everyone made the corpse run back after a wipe). If you're on Spirestone, he recommends you join up with Runs with Scissors.

  • Mmm boy this drama is tasty: Implicit on Drenden came there because of a free server transfer, but since then nothing has gone right. There's been fighting within the guild, and an attempted merge with Age of Redemption hasn't worked at all-- now, members are all going off and doing their own thing, and it looks like guild meltdown has commenced. The best part? It's all over their forums. Don't miss the cartoon, which, for hilarity's sake, I've reprinted above.

DOWNED

  • Eternity on Drenden-A dropped Magtheridon, so I guess we found out how long their pathetic sorcery can hold him.

  • A fun downing story: No Remorse on Jaedenar-H killed Moroes on their first trip to Kara (grats!), but here's the cool part-- everyone in the raid wiped except one rogue. That rogue finished Moroes the rogue off, and when the loot came up, the Emerald Ripper dropped. So the rogue earned his keep.

  • Eye for an Eye on Eredar-H dropped Gruul. Gruul's eye is pretty big, so I don't know where they got an eye to trade with him.

  • Valhalla on Stormreaver-H (who we've reported about before) has moved their two Kara groups (no Paladins still) past the Curator, and are fighting with Shade of Aran. Can I give you a hint? Don't move when Flame Wrath is cast or the raid will blow up.

  • Lots of cool stories out of Karazhan this week: The Dread Council (winner of this week's Best Guild Name award) on Detheroc-H made it all the way up to the chess event (including two Moroes kills so far) without a single priest (they don't even have a level 70 priest in the guild). Very nice-- what was your group like?

RECRUITING

  • The Recruit Officer (whoah, they have a recruit officer) for Amicus Alliance on Hyjal-A (or H) says they're looking for more players to fill out the rest of their casual Kara groups (casual meaning raids Wed, Fri evenings, and Sat/Sun afternoons)

  • The Servants of Kaelthas on Blackrock-H are recruiting druids and priests now for Kara.

  • Woot Sauce on Jaedenar-H wants you to know that they totally beat the pants off of both ZF and ST, and they're looking for some fun-seeking lowbies. Also, their GM is a girl. So take that!

  • Oh, here's a cool answer to my question last week about whether GW was actually helping people find guilds: Kytharion Enclave on Dalaran-A has gotten 3 new recruits since showing up in this very column. That's what we do, man: help people help other people helping people. Or something like that.

  • Invicta on Hyjal-A is recruiting "mature and friendly" players to get keyed for Karazhan and roll into the endgame with them.

  • Consigned to Oblivion on Aggramar-EU has been published here before, but they're still looking for players.

  • Infernal Warriors on Hellscream-H is looking for lowbies (like level 10-20) to have fun and work their way up together.

  • Dark Legacy on Warsong-H is on Curator in Kara, and they want prot warriors, healers, and mages to help them out. However, they say they don't want shammies to heal-- as a Resto Shaman, I urge them to seriously reconsider that stance.

Special request this week: Send us your funniest/weirdest GMOTD. You'll have to explain any inside jokes, but the funnier or least understandable they are, the better. We'll print the best next week.
Keep those beautiful tips coming! You guys are awesome. If you've got news of drama going down, your guild has downed a raid boss (I know there's got to be more Gruul kills out there.. and even a few more Mags?), or you want people to join your guild-- it works!-- drop a note to wowguildwatch@gmail.com. Until next week, keep on pulling (wait for sunders!!!).
