Steve's fight to demolish his house

Last week, the California Supreme Court refused to hear Steve Jobs' request to demolish his house. The Jackling house is a large Spanish Colonial revival mansion built in 1926. A group of preservationists called "Uphold Our Heritage" want to prevent Jobs from tearing it down. They have established a website at friendsofthejacklinghouse.org.

Jobs received a demolition permit in 2004--under the condition that Jobs offers to give away the house itself so that it can be relocated to another site, according to this Mac Daily News article. Jobs calls the house an "architectural abomination". Between the $150,000 for debris removal and $350,000 in moving expenses, Jobs is essentially offering you $500,000 to take this house off his hands.
