Guildwatch: Roses are red, violets are blue, I /gquit, and f#($ you

Is that title too harsh? Too bad-- drama ain't pretty! It is poetic, though, as today we've got a /gquit rant that sounds more like free verse than anything else.

DRAMA

  • Today in Angry /Gquit Theater, we present the story of Jarlaxe, formerly of Learn to Play on EU Anachronos. Here's what he posted on the guild forums after one member of the guild, Violet, didn't answer his tells to join his group for Botanica:

"so first i put in the guild chat and asked violet if she could help...no response
so i asked her again ....still no response
so i asked in guild chat generally.....STILL no response...
there were about 20 members online...and not 1 bloody response
now i dont expect people to drop what there are doing and come running
but i DO expect a response

pig ignorant sods ..... i thought this guild was better than that"

It's like (really bad) poetry! The thing is, Violet, according to our "shady anonymous tipster," was actually AFK at the time. Whoops. Didn't matter much to Jarlaxe (who apparently has a hunter who carries around a Thunderfury for who knows what reason)-- he /gquit and /whispered a curse to Violet. Good riddance. L2P, we're told is now recruiting healers.. and one hunter, no Thunderfury needed.

  • Here's a look at the other side of drama, I guess. Tarsonis on Stonemaul-A got /gkicked from a guild that was heading into Black Temple, and he wonders if he should join a guild that's still up there and continue progress, or head back and repeat Magtheridon, SSC, and the Eye. Tarsonis, I have a better question-- why'd you get /gkicked?

  • Eminence on Dentarg-A is gone-- they say they had about 10 people in the guild who knew what they were doing, and eight or nine who just got pulled around by the others. Apparently after a Void Reaver run where he was only 70% by the time there were only 4 DPSers left, they called it quits.

  • Not sure exactly what happened here, but Athenas Avatars on Hellscream-A had something strange happen to them. After they told a guild member he couldn't go to SSC with him because of poor raid attendance, things got crazy on Vent, and they decided to /gkick a few of his characters. But apparently he had an alt in their lowest rank, and somehow he was able to get that alt GM access to the guild. No one knows how that happened, not even Blizzard apparently, but let's just say it didn't go well for the guild-- right in the middle of their SSC run, they got hit with a /gdisband. Ouch. And guilds apparently can't be restored. Crazy story. How could this guy have gotten GM access if he wasn't actually GM?

  • Finally, this guild forum thread from Glory on Aegwynn isn't really high level drama, but it does show two major contributors to it: 1) people being mean for really no reason at all, and 2) people who think they deserve more than they do. Good times.

DOWNED

  • Keepers of Azeroth on Dentarg-A rolled all the way up to Prince in their first full guild run in Karazhan. Grats! They're also looking for more ("transfers welcome with references") to fill out a second group, or just to head on to Gruul.

  • Valhalla on Stormreaver-H has cleared Karazhan and gotten Gruul to 5%. Magtheridon is next, and SSC is on notice!

  • Ultima of Ysera recently sent a 20 man raid of level 1s to down Hogger, and they got him-- twice. They're recruiting members right now (a little higher than level 1, I believe) to head into the old epic content: Molten Core and Blackwing Lair.

  • Morbid Curiosity on Fenris-A finished off Attumen with what I like to call a FLAWLESS VICTORY-- that's no deaths, baby. They're also recruiting-- looking for tanks, healers, and a few DPS.

  • The Doomguard on Skullcrusher-H served Gruul this week. Please sir, can I have some more? Get it? Served? Gruul?

RECRUITING

  • Flawless on Arthas-A has been a little thin lately, but their GM wants to make the guild completely perfect, so they're recruiting higher level characters, 35+.

  • Wraith on Icecrown wants a shadow priest to come with them into SSC, and they sound cool: no yelling on raids, and they're the only guild I know of that beat Gruul before Shade of Aran. Just couldn't wait for that 25 man stuff I guess.

  • Chimaera on Draenor-A is seeking feral and resto druids, prot warriors, resto shammys, and holy and shadow priests.

  • Hellscream's Marauders on Frostmourne-H is looking for members of all classes for rep grinding, heroic runs, and eventually raiding. Friends and families, they say, are welcome to join with you.

  • Veritas of Onyxia raids Mon-Fri starting at 6 server, and is looking for healers and tanks who want to enter Karazhan.

  • Idle Hands on Cenarius-H is recruiting. They're a casual raiding guild who have made it to see R&J in Karazhan, and they promise "side-splitting times" on Ventrilo. Whoah, on second thought that sounds like a health risk of some kind.

  • Veil of Painea (they have a little accent thing above the A in their name but I have no idea how to do that-- it's like playing in a pickup group with a guy named "Eschiavenba") on Quel'dorei is looking for mature, active players to come with them past Curator... and beyond!

  • Infinity on Ursin-H is recruiting clothies for Karazhan-- healers, shadow priests, and mages. Attunement is preferred but they'll help if necessary.

  • Damage Control on Suramar-H is desperately in need of healers! They want 1-2 holy priests, 2-3 holy pallies, and a resto druid and shaman.

  • Ashes from the Phoenix (winner of this week's Best Guild Name award) on Scarlet Crusade-A is a family-style casual guild looking for a few good priests (or any other classes) for Karazhan.

That's it for this week's GW. Remember to send those tips to wowguildwatch@gmail.com. Until next week, happy raiding!
