Today in Second Life, Tuesday 6 November, 2007
Today in Second Life there was:
21,958 new signups bringing the total to 10,734,023 signups.
A peak concurrency of 52,237 at 2:35PM, and a minimum concurrency of 26,129 at 1:10AM. Median concurrency for the day was 39,402.
The Grid Stability Index for the day was 1.94 (lower is better).
Second Life started the new day with early morning network problems, and the transaction history irregularities of recent days became a full-scale outage of that reporting system not long after dawn. The preparation for today's upgrade went wrong, then very wrong. So wrong, that it looks like Linden Lab will be having another go at it tomorrow. Oh, and stipends didn't get paid out either.
Word came down the wires about a massive purchase of a miniscule stake in Linden Lab.
Linden Lab announced the phasing out of the last of the Class 3 servers.
libsecondlife v0.3 has been released and is available now.
