VC Monday Madness video wrap-up 12/3/07

This week is just about a wash as far as good Virtual Console games go. But, there is hope, for there is one game we found to be well worth you hard-earned cash money. Which one is it? Well, you'll just have to check out the video above. Or, head past the break, Or, do both.

My goodness, so many choices!

The Dynastic Hero (TurboGrafx 16 CD-ROM, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)
Wii Fanboy says: do not download

All of the problems we had with Wonder Boy in Monster World are here in The Dynastic Hero. That is, because they're both the same game. We just couldn't get interested in the game's story and gameplay the first time around, now is no different. We know the game has an audience, it just isn't us.

Eternal Champions (Sega Genesis, 1 - 2 players, 800 Wii Points)
Wii Fanboy says: do not download

Oh, Eternal Champions. You just aren't a good game at all, are you? The whole novelty of being able to actually kill your opponent wasn't something that lasted so long back when it released, not to mention the ridiculous rarity at which the overkills (stage fatalities) actually happen. Aside from that, what we're left with is a fighter with clumsy controls and just about no fun factor.

ZANAC (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points)
Wii Fanboy says: download it!

The diamond in the rough this week, ZANAC is a great shoot-em-up (or shmup, if you wish). It's got plenty of weapons for you to use and tons of enemies to destroy. The only issue we find is that sometimes enemies or obstacles are hidden to the eye because they so closely resemble the terrain you're flying over. Overall though, it's gold.

That concludes our look at this week's Virtual Console games. As always, if you have any tips or rumors regarding Nintendo's Virtual Console service, be sure to let us know and come back next week when we take a look at the latest titles available on the Nintendo Wii.
