Voice control for Xbox 360 with Media Center Communicator v3

One Voice Technology's Media Center Communicator v3 allows you to control media -- not games -- streamed from up to five Xbox 360s to a Windows Vista PC, entirely through the power of your voice. In the words of Dean Weber, the CEO of One Voice, "imagine walking into your entertainment room and simply saying, for example; Xbox Play U2 or Xbox Play American Idol, and your Xbox immediately starts playing that content." Our past experiences with voice recognition are nowhere near as smooth as the scenario, and if the technology inside the Media Center Communicator v3 is anything like past solutions, the reality will be something along the lines of "imagine yelling 'Xbox, Don't Ever Play Barbie Girl again!' repeatedly into your PC, only for it to increase the volume and put it on loop." Hopefully One Voice won't let us down, and their claims that it'll recognize a wide range of accents with no voice training won't be a disappointment. If the voice recognition does turn out ok, then as well as the central Xbox 360 control, you can look forward to navigating your PC based MP3 and photo collections with voice commands, a PC that reads out your emails and taps into Skype on your command, and complete control over home thermostats, lighting, and security cameras, all without lifting a thumb. A USB microphone is included in the deal, although details on when or for how much "the deal" will ship aren't currently available.
