Windows Mobile 6 update for T-Mobile Dash leaked
Frankly we're a bit surprised it's taken as long as it has for the T-Mobile Dash Windows Mobile 6 upgrade to get leaked. Nothing much to see here if you're at all familiar with WM6 "Standard" (what we common folk are still calling Smartphone), but if you're not willing to brick-risk it, apparently the official update will hit the streets this Friday, the 4th.

I hope that Verizon let's the Q users update....
My friend has a dash, I'll be sure to tell him.
Um... now all we need is for Markspace to update The Missing Sync so it works with WM6!
ugh...clearly no one here frequents the lovely people over at XDA-Developers.com There has been an update albeit beta for Windows Mobile 6 out for a few months on the DASH, with my fav and everything....
Right... that's a beta. This is about the final version. So, um, "Ugh"
good point about the missing sync. i hadn't thought of that - i hope that they have already been working on this.
Any word if they're working on a WM6 update for the MDA? Anybody?

Getting Spanked by iPhone....
So is HTC going to offer the non T-Mobile branded upgrade around the same time? I thought they would get it out before the carrier branded version.
I'll have my dash charged up and ready to go on friday, finally something news worthy on engadget.
thanks for this note, i have a dash and i will waiting for this upgrade.
Hopefully this is a beta. There appears to be something funny about Media Player 10 -- is rotates all video 90 degrees CCW in full screen mode, and there are no user editable options to correct this. The S/W acts as if the Dash is a portrait screen...
I'm getting the fullscreen rotation issue in Windows Media Player Mobile now that I installed Windows Mobile 6. I've seen other people mention this issue elsewhere.
I just updated my Dash last night. I removed the sim, plugged it back into my old Symbian phone and was joyfully reconnected with a simple, efficient phone. The Dash is pretty good. Win stinks and no update will fix it.
I suppose if you're used to Win pc's you can deal with the illogical, disorganized mess of an os. This is a Mac houselhold where simplicity and intuitive interfaces score points.
just an fyi re: markspace missing sync compatibility with windows mobile 6

@mike
"T-Mobile getting spanked by the iPhone"?
Do you mean T-Mobile USA because I thought T-Mobile was going to be the iPhone carrier in European markets?
Also, whether the iPhone "spanks" T-Mobile (and ALL of the their products) remains to be seen. I think the iPhone will be a great device, but as an investor I wouldn't put any money on it "spanking" T-Mobile just yet.
