Acer Aspire "Gemstone" laptop concept to be unveiled Friday

We really don't have much of a clue what Acer is up to here, but it's a bit of an exception when Acer isn't doing something completely predictable with its product lineup and design direction, so we though we'd give you a heads up. The "Gemstone concept" is apparently a new Acer Aspire laptop line, or so it seems -- the promo material is a bit obtuse. It could very well look totally gaudy, but we suppose we'll find out on Friday, and it's pretty much impossible to look much more ridiculous than Acer's Ferrari lineup, so how can we lose?

Paul do you not realise that your artcle is speculative toss about a device that in all honesty is more or less the same as the miriad of other electronic gadgets that are pumped out of giant factories by massive no-face manfacturing conglomerates that control every fing.

Take a closer look at the shit that for sale nowdays, it is all the same. It ain't about who makes the coolest lookin box of trix. Its a good thing the thread is so on topic or it might become obtuse. *rolls eyes*

As for the laptop, yah know the thing the entry is about, it looks interesting. However must learn more. If this is the revamp of the Apple ibook (a.k.a the woman's compact wannabe) Umm ugh... However Acer was one of the first if not THE first out of the gate with the flipable tablet PC screens. So who knows....

Now now, lets not pan Acer too much. The original Acer Aspire desktop was one of the first computers in the world to emphasize design, with interesting colours and shapes. Have we forgotten so soon (ok, it was almost 12 years ago, but still...)?
