O2 gets HTC Panda as "Xda Argon"
If this wasn't actually on O2's website, we'd think it was just a late (really late) April Fool's joke; alas, it now seems that the HTC Panda is the real deal in all its throwback glory. Looking pretty much like an HTC Himalaya or Alpine, the Panda reminds us of everything that was great about 2004 -- and thankfully, O2 has decided in its infinite wisdom to pick up the device as the "Xda Argon." Don't get your hopes up for modernized guts, though -- those are throwback, too, with EDGE data and Windows Mobile 5 leading the charge. On the other hand, Bluetooth, WiFi, a 2 megapixel camera, and a gloriously large 3.5 inch display all help make the Panda's case for a place in the sentimental Pocket PC user's pocket. Get it now on O2 for as little as... well, nothing, depending on the contract you select.[Via the::unwired]

hideous
3.5 inch screen is very nice,
though i don't know if it's enough to play backgammon :-)

Finally! A Pocket PC phone for the rest of us not looking for the ultra trendy and tiny or finger keyboard only device.
Nothing wrong with the Dash, the Q, the BlackJack, et al. but I have been wanting a Windows Mobile phone that DIDN'T have a keyboard AND had very generous screen real estate. It was very hard to find both my requirements in one device.
Now let me cruise over to their website to see which arm I'm going to have to sell to afford this thing ;)
HTC's design team has gone backwards...
I'm always trying to find older PDA'S because they had bigger screens then the T-Mobile MDA'S and such. I don't mind a bigger phone for a screen that I can read without holding the phone an inch from my face.
great. I still use the Himalaya model and I very much dislike those waste-of-space keyboards and smaller screens. To get wifi, I use a sd card that has wifi in it, but I sacrifice the memory usage.
All I want is faster graphics or CPU, SDHC support, and maybe a little more robust, and this pda phone would be perfect for me.
You should get an iMate Ultimate sounds like.
