King of Zelda mods returns for a DS edition
We can't say this new DS mod quite gets our hearts racing like the Zelda Wii mod did a couple of months ago, but perhaps that's just because the Phantom Hourglass hasn't hit the DS yet, while Twilight Princess has been epic-ing it up on the Wii since day one. All the same, this new one from Morpheon Mods features a fancy "Zelda gold" paint job, along with a metal sword and shield backlit by a white LED -- hardly pocketable, but sure is fun to look at. The mod is on sale on eBay now, and 15% of the proceeds go towards the Child's Play charity.

That sword and shield is a pin. Saw them at hot topic during last christmas.
Well we cant all be perfect, for example you shop at Hot Topic.
OK then, YOU carve YOURSELF a shield and sword and mod a DS just like that. YOU get that to look as slick as THIS is, and then we will bow down to your greatness.
Untill then, WHO CARES where the materials came from! You do not have to build EVERYTHING FROM SCRATCH to call it a MOD!!!
I have that pin! My girlfriend put it in my stocking last Christmas! She got it from Hot Topic!
:P
It's the overall execution of it that's the thing dud er, dude.
That pin is also mounted and backlit and the whole project is near perfect in every detail.
As I've pointed out elsewhere it needs a PDA Panache Battle Stylus to make it perfect, but that's a personal bias! ;)
Maybe I'm missing something, but that whole Zelda thing is a franchise I could never really get into to. Of course, I only played the early ones years ago.
Now, if they did a new Fallout? I'd be down with that.
Did I just say "into to"?
bob dole
Yes, you did. :)
That is so disgustingly cool.
regardless of how difficult it is to make, that would make any zelda fan drool.
Lord, this guy needs a lesson in web design PRONTO. Im sure he could do so much better if it didnt look like he was trying to sell a korean gucci bag.
Since when does gold spray paint and a $5 metal pin make it onto Engadget?
Oh nm, gotta give a bit of cred for the charity bit.
