When glancing through last year's
HD NFL schedule, there were still quite a few games that sadly didn't get the HD treatment it rightfully deserved, but in news that's sure to make those who just endured the painstaking NFL Draft a bit more jovial, that won't be the case in 2007 (or beyond). According to a snippet at SignOnSanDiego,
CBS will reportedly be offering up "five or six games per week this season in high-definition, up from three a year ago." Additionally, the NFL has also declared that "all games must be shown in HD starting in 2008," which means that you can finally stop biting your nails about whether your team's matchup will be shot in HD. Four months and counting, folks.
This is the best HD news I've heard in a long time
This is an atrocity.. If Fox, ESPN, & NBC can show all of their games in HD, CBS should have to follow suite immediately. I've been watching the NFL in HD now for about 3 years and it sickens me that Fox has shown every game in HD. They have the exact same number of games per week as CBS.
I think the NFL should have demanded it happen this year along with all the HD instant replay cameras in the stadiums...
Great News.
The Browns can't get all their regular season games in HD on CBS, but now their preseason games will be in HD
Whoops ... here's the Browns link ... http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=66273
My Niners are gonna be so good this year =)
So does this mean Directv will continue to charge extra to watch HD games?
In other words, will Directv continue to carry SD games for the next 20 years in order to charge for a non-feature?
Wow, they are going to show all games in HD by 2008. That is really great of them, considering that all broadcasts in the US are to be digital by Feb. 17, 2009
At most there are 16 games a week. Usually, there is one Sunday and Monday night. Divide the remaining 14 by two for Fox and CBS and you have 7 games a week per channel. If CBS goes to six games in HD a week, that will leave only ONE game that is not broadcast in HD per week. That is ridiculous. What is the point of that?
