WWDC keynote photo gallery
You read the keynote, now see all the live photography in far higher res than our in-column coverage. (We've also included a few shots that didn't make it into the liveblog, too.) Or, you know, skip this post entirely -- we won't fault you if you're on Apple overload today.

although I am one of the guys saying "microsoft is copying apple", this will shut me up for quite some time - 10.5 clearly copies the design of vista 1:1
even the gras in the background....
*laugh* *shakes head*
This whole thing was pretty lame. On top of that, they are making Leopard even more gaudy than Vista in their attempt to differentiate the two further.
Im i the only one who sold my ipod being ready for a NEW one today????
yes.
In this photo (http://www.engadget.com/photos/wwdc-keynote-photo-gallery/272170/) with the guy from EA, those screens sitting on the demo table behind him do not look like Apple Cinema displays OR current iMacs. It would be really weird if Apple was using non-cinema screens...but even WEIRDER if Apple was using un-released hardware!
They are apple displays, its just the flash made the go a funny colour
I know it's WWDC day or whatever, but my word is there a lot of Apple here today! Just look at the Breaking News/Featured Stories on the right side of the home page, 8 out of 10 are Apple stories.
I have a MacBook, and I'm definitely in the Apple Camp, but I must agree... Copying the MS background? Transparent MenuBar? WTF? Did Steve Jobs fall down the stairs and crack his head open... this is just f-ed up.
Note to Apple: This isn't "rubbing Bill Gates' face in it" this is validating the bullshit eye candy that is Vista.
The be honest, the OS is very nice, and evidently, has 300 new features and tweaks (some of which have been shown in things like Mail, etc).
I'm sure when we get it in our hands we'll learn alot more about the usability improvements in the Finder/Dock etc.
I have to say, that had to be the least entertaining WWDC in the history of Apple. Was it just me or was 99% of it a re-hash of most everything we already know? The only thing that really grabbed my attention was Safari for Windows, and even then, I'm quite happy to stick with Firefox.
Come on Apple ... this 10.5 release is dragging on like SP3 for Windows XP. Let's get a move on here!
I notice that the EA games boxes say "For a Mac with an Intel processor" on them - while games are probably quite hard to make universal, this seems quite soon after the transition for Intel only software?
Em,I know the guys at Engadget responded to the claims that they were gvbing unfair coverage to Apple keynotes by saying that they did coverage of several keynotes, but seriously,7 posts? No keynote got that before.
Sorry,meant to say giving.
Then seriously, skip the coverage. Face it, Apple is a big player these days when it comes to computer-related and gadget news. That's what this site is for. 10 years ago, there'd be no stories. But it's not 10 years ago. Apple is here for now, get used to it.
My point was that it was unnecessary to make 7 posts for 1 keynote. All they needed to do was do a round-up at the end, instead of flooding the page.I wasnt trying to play down apples importance in the gadget market.
I'd like to find out which Bluetooth 2.0 headsets will be compatible with the new iPhone?
Any ideas? Motorolla, Plantronics, etc?
http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/09/the-apple-iphone/ scroll a little over halfway down this page, Apple is bringing one out as an accessory to the iPhone, it's gonna be the smallest one in the world too by the way.
my lg is smaller and better looking

i'd really apreciate it
ty in advance

high def pics of Steve Jobs inturtle necks and jeans looking soooo gay, I'll pass
I must admit that I was dissapointed today after seeing the keynote. A hardware and software company, so where is the hardware?
Apple has fallen prey of two things they must have learned from Sony: 1. Never show a product twice (i.e. Playstation 3 demoes twice the second time is already late and shows the same as the first time)
2. Never try to further your thinking on one domain to another. Not everything should be 'iTunes like' with features based on 'nice looking' 'same look on all windows' Where is the innovation in that?
What is truly happening is that people are trying to take Macs to work only to find that you cannot install your .Net-SQL in-house apps on the Mac.
You want to sync your BlackBerry and find that there is a crappy third party indie app for you.
You want to be able to run more productivity apps: But you get Entourage, right which is already like 5 years old? Ah yes, but this developers are wowing to nicer looking windows, shiny desktops, to the five-minute-i-love-you-look. Macs get disrespected by 'Mac Haters' because the look 'toy like' yet Apple furthers that thinking even when there is a huge segment of the would be switches that would like to see the Mac positioned mostly for work.
This is yet another step in the toy like direction. Ah yes! Mac fans have more games now! Yet where is MS Office or that iWork apps going?
to be fair, this is a WWDC thus it was catered for developers so it was kind of expected that only software announcements will be made. The only reason for apple to release any hardware in WWDC is if the developers themselves need it to do their coding. I.e. When apple announced that they were switching over to intel, they provided a mac tower that came with an intel chip.
Robert. You sound schizophrenic.
DEVELOPER'S CONFERENCE.
That handles 95% of your complaints.
iWork is coming and when it does I can boot Excel to a curb. But that has nothing to do with developers. They're interested in development tools. That's software. (Or maybe a Mac Pro hehe)
Mike,
What is coming after Tiger? an OS that looks like iTunes? Is that really it? I believe most of us agree that the direction the Mac division is taking is getting old: The hardware is getting old and heavy -nothing there in two years!-, the software is iTunes married with Vista.
Then again, I still hear a lot of people saying I would love to take my Mac to work or on a business trip, but I don't want to risk it, being in a hotel trying to load up last minute data from my ERP only to be hung on the phone asking somebody to download it to Excel and pass it my way.
The stock was down 4% huge percentage points after the announcement yesterday, and the trend looks like to continue until the iPhone comes out. But then again, it says a lot about the Mac and OS development business of Apple.
Have you tried to look at an Apple site for enterprise solutions? They show you a lonely lawyer, a funny architect. But those people don't work on enterprises. They are one-man-shows. Apple already has a foot in the door on lifestyle software. Its old already: It should cater to the enterprise.
Can someone tell me what kind of camera takes pictures like that? I just bought a Canon XTI and I'm hoping it's the same camera :)
Every time I see WWDC, I think We Want Dead Carp or some other strange things. Even though I know the real acronym, I just can't place World Wide Developers Conference when I see it for some reason. Even as a professional developer my brain is wired all wrong. I keep coming up with these off the wall translations:
What Would [ Dave | Dan | Don ] [ Cut | Curl ]
Whiny, Whipped, Dropped Children
Wholesale Winter Driving Chains
Whistling Walter Doesn't Curtsy
Wichita Wine [ Drinking | Diving ] Contest
Wild Wet Dancing Coeds
...
can't . . stop, must . . stop
Cupertino, stop your photocopiers!
Leopard looks so much like Vista.
In 1-2 years, Apple will claim the grass theme was copied by Microsoft, and everyone else.
