Microsoft buys Zunesleeves.com? Probably not.
We're super super skeptical on this one, but according to ZuneScene, Microsoft recently bought the Zunesleeves.com domain, which currently features a Zune logo with a link to the official Zune site. Embedded in the site's html is the rather odd tag "i have zune sleeves", which suggests that -- if real -- it might be something more than just a Zune version of the iPod socks. Still, it's difficult to imagine Microsoft coming out with anything significant that has a sleeve association, and seeing as the site was registered by proxy at Dreamhost and is still set to the default name servers -- Zune.net was registered at Register.com, and has Microsoft name servers -- we're guessing that this site is the work of a sleeve-obsessed prankster.[Via ZuneScene]

well, you do need a sleeve (as oppose to a sock) for the Zune.
and Frankly, Microsoft just need to drop zune and never be associated with that name ever again. IPhone is going to sell more units in a week than Zune did in a year.

Microsoft already owns zunesleeve.com so why not buy zunesleeves.com
Peter @ Jul 2nd 2007 10:52AM
Because some random person could buy the domain name, and should a customer who wishes to go to "zunesleeve" add an S by accident, they could find themselves on a website with tons of spyware ready to install itself.

I dont mean to be a geek or anything - but if you look at the image properties of the logo - you'll see it was created using Adobe Photoshop on a Mac ! So i doubt microsoft are using that site.

Right ... because Microsoft totally doesn't develop for OS X, and doesn't probably have more Macs on site in Redmond than the entire rest of Washington. I don't think they're gonna bat an eyelash when their graphic designers use Macs like the rest of the illustrators in the free world. MS is nothing if not pragmatic.
I'm not sure if I could say the same for Apple, even though they've been a major Windows developer for years. Not to mention the fact that MS's apps on OS X often surpass their Windows counterparts, while Apple's Windows apps tend to be a bit on the unnecessarily clunky side.

i think they are hoping to create a showcase website for everybody who has full tattoo sleeves of Zune logos.

I LOVE MY ZUNE!! As a matter of fact I'm listening to it right now. I've pretty much tossed my ipod aside now that I have it. I like it alot better.

cha ching! what's this worth? 50¢ or so? How many pro-Zune comments does MS need you to post for it to start paying off?
lame marketing at its finest. Like Spam for blogs!

Checking the Zune Logo on ZuneSleeves.com , I found its not that innocent as it may look... It has been created on Photoshop for Mac :)
