Haier creates Transformers-themed laptop, forgets to make it transform
Haier has created a Transformers themed notebook that on the surface could be pretty interesting for the most die-hard Transformers fans, but is really nothing more than a laptop with a big decal on the back -- hey, at least it's not a Decepticon. The specs are relatively good too, with the G70 notebook running on Intel's PM965 chipset, and featuring a 1920 x 1200 pixel 17-inch display, 2GB of RAM, a 120GB Hard Disk, and a GeForce Go 7950GTX with 512MB of VRAM. Now all Haier needs to do is to get a shipment of these within life-giving distance of the Allspark: we can almost see the "Allspark contact" CTO option on our screen right now.

YES! I got myself hyped up for the movie by watching the cartoon movie about 5 times.. great that the new movie writers made reference to Starscreams shortcoming's with Megatron saying "you've failed me once again, Starscream".. great stuff. I felt like an 8 year old again.
As for that laptop.. eh..

Well, speaking about Starscream.
He is now doing Yoga on YouTube, maybe he wants some peace...

Maybe it transforms into that little Engadget tag down there?
Big @ Jul 8th 2007 9:27PM
this time around Starscream was definately the coolest bot.
The CGI team really played around with his F22 transformation ability and it payed off.

It transforms to a blue screen of death unexpectedly. Definitely a Decepticon.

Now all we need is a transformers themed Xbox 360...
you know: http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/07/anyone-see-the-xbox-360-robot-in-transformers/

If they really wanted it to be a transformers theme laptop. They should've allowed it to transform into a tablet, then into a laptop, then into a really expensive keyboard heh.
Adoniteking @ Jul 8th 2007 11:43PM
what they should have done is make the laptop play the "robot transformation sound" when the laptop is opened or powered and the autobot's emblem should be small and give off a cool blue light like that of alienware instead of this huge rubbish decal...c'mon Haier be creative..
Phour ZwanZig @ Jul 9th 2007 12:00AM
That looks like a pretty BIG laptop...
Only thing I have to say.. Otherwise it looks nice
Adoniteking @ Jul 9th 2007 1:08AM

Phour ZwanZig @ Jul 9th 2007 12:01AM

Does it transform?......No
Optimus won't like this pointless post.
SteveMB @ Jul 9th 2007 1:13AM
A bit off-topic, but I can't wait until the AOL-Haier MP3 player comes out. That teamed up with the Meizu M8 16GB is a sweet combo.
Ves @ Jul 9th 2007 3:23AM
What do you mean, forgot to make it transform, did you see what those killer mini robots did in the movie. I don't want to be killed by my laptop cause I got owned with PVP in WoW
Andrew Luly @ Jul 9th 2007 7:44AM
come on now, i am sure it transforms!!!
if its a windows machine it will transform in to a zombie spreading virus computer or it transforms to a paperweight after a year or so...
TJ @ Jul 9th 2007 7:54AM
Its in disguise so you wont see it transform.
Samuel McConnell @ Jul 9th 2007 9:57AM
You would think a Transformers-themed laptop would at least be a convertable tablet.
Scott @ Jul 9th 2007 11:23AM
Wait it doesn't transform?? That's cool because neither do most of the new Tranformers toys. But wait, they do have "Cyber Stompin'" action. Lame.
antinoob @ Jul 10th 2007 5:23AM
those cyber stompin action figures are for children under the age of like 5 you stupid moron. seriously, why do you think they are called "my first transformers" you stupid stupid human being.
