Showbiz Pizza's Rock-afire Explosion hacked to rap on stage
Hacking your Roomba to sing and dance is one thing, but reprogramming The Rock-afire Explosion animatronic robot band to belt out rap tunes is undoubtedly on another level. Ripped straight from Showbiz Pizza Place, Fatz Geronimo and crew have apparently been reworked to perform Ms. New Booty, a less than flattering (but entirely comical) piece. So if you're in desperate need of a midday laugh, be sure and check out the video after the break.[Via BoingBoing]

Awwww man! That was hillarious. I remember Billy Bob and them at Showbiz as a kid LOL!!

That took some serious work, awesome job and planning by whoever did it. If that actually played while kids were in the store, i can only imagine a few upset parents. Still, great job and absolutely hilarious

Okay, but why does the back STILL smell like a blunt?
I had to laugh out loud.
Boing Boing is great.

I was waiting for the bear-chick with pom-poms to start singing. Don't most rap songs have a part where a girl moans or something?

I doubt he’s hacking anything as much as just plugging in MP3’s at his work when the place closes:

You don't know how these things work, do you? They aren't Teddy Ruxpin, you know. The characters must be programmed for proper timing and to sing the proper parts of the song. You don't just shove it in "Line In" and then "the magic" happens.

From the link you provided, it's pretty apparent that he's doing much more than plugging in an MP3. I had no idea that the dog actually drums. Insane. Now I want someone to make an advanced Neil Peart-drumming dog robot.

It's not as simple as just plugging in an iPod, but it's not unheard of either. You can actually store a show on an MP3 Player like so...

I personally like "The Sign". It's just creepy enough to give you nightmares.

What the hell is Showbiz Pizza? All we had around here were Chuck E Cheese's...
V.I. @ Aug 8th 2007 9:01PM
Showbiz was before Chuckie Cheese, late 80's in Chicagoland area.
Jared @ Aug 2nd 2007 6:18PM
