Yet another cooling solution for your Wii
For anyone who has neglected their introverted tendencies lately and stepped foot outside, you'd realize that much of the US is unbearably warm, and while we haven't seen any outbreaks of overheating Wiis, this here fan is aiming to ensure it stays that way. Of course, it won't go down as the first of its kind, but this USB-powered wind pusher provides two extra USB ports for the ones it covers, should match your Wii in color fairly well, and is reportedly ultra quiet when squashing heat. No word just yet on pricing or availability, but if you've got a wonderful invention known as "air conditioning," you needn't worry anyway.

Umm... Why?

Because if you can convince someone that they need something, then you can make some money. Gold-plated USB cables! Oh boy!

Everybody knows gold makes data transfer 70% faster, and 100% cooler looking.
Hey... how's it look cooler if you can't see the gold? No, no, no! This doesn't add up at all.

Even after hours of Twilight Princess, the air coming out of the exhaust vent is COOL.
WTF. You do not need a external cooling fan for the Wii.

These things are kinda pointless if you ask me. Stacking fans on top of one another.

If you're really paranoid, just put your Wii in a beer fridge.. it might not like the condensation though.

As I was scrolling down the front page, I didn't notice the title to the story, and as soon as I saw the top bit of this thing, I thought it was the new iMac until I actually saw the story's title.
I think I fail at life. Either that, or I'm a LITTLE bit too obsessed with finding out what it looks like.

Don't need

The Wii absolutely does not need a cooling solution while it's on and running. On the other hand, WiiConnect24 makes my vertical Wii quite warm, to the point of actually being hot, so it'd be nice if there was a fix/update for this. I don't know, leave the fan on at a super-low voltage or something?
Grey Acumen @ Aug 7th 2007 1:47AM
I kinda like this. At the very least you don't lose the two USB ports, so it's not detrimental.
pablot @ Aug 7th 2007 2:53AM
The only time the Wii needs more cooling is when in WiiConnect24 standby, because the fan turns off but the CPU continues on running, so it can actually overheat. This can be easily fixed though by soldering ONE simple wire (for those that know how to do that). Check it out:

Wow, the first article that everyone agrees thats having an extra fan is useless. Maybe some people read my post about the last Wii cooler that was advertised.
