The Viliv X2 AIO: the All in One PMP, really is
Yukyung is back with yet another iteration of their Viliv P2 PMP. The X2 AIO (All In One) replaces the flash storage of the plain-Jane, X2 with old school, spinnin' platters for up to 60GB in capacity. We're talking 4.3-inch, 16M color, 480 x 272 pixel touchscreen display, GPS, DMB television, electronic dictionary, and plenty of audio and video codec support all powered by a 600MHz Alchemy AU1250 processor. Priced at ?549,000 (about $584) for 30GB of storage or ?599,000 (about $637) for 60GB.

overpriced. you can get a samsung q1u for a bit more, and that has a full blown copy of vista that can do everything that does and much much more. sure it is larger, but you also get a nice big 7" LCD

Being a current owner of the Viliv P1 and getting a lot more attention than any iPod owner ever will. I bought a new Viliv P1 off of ebay for $310. The original price was $500 I think. I am quite sure if you want this player without that price, ebay can help you out here! Also, it looks like Viliv has produced a very nice PMP(AIO) IMHO and improve on the annoying headphone jack.
:D

I loved my Viliv P1, but its 30GB Hitachi hard drive failed. I bought an 80GB Toshiba replacement, careful to ensure that it bore the ZIF connector; but the Viliv's connector won't fit. VILIV's USA Web site seems to be down and the company has not responded to my questions. I also never received two spare AC adapters that I ordered and paid for. At this point, I'm deciding between buying an original Hitachi drive (30GB), doing nothing, or waiting for Apple's 6th-generation iPod, which is expected to sport the same 480 x 320 resolution as the iPhone.

This looks quite nice. As a previous Viliv P1 owner, I sure hope the company has made improvements to their UIs. The one on my PMP was pretty but overwhelmingly clunky.

I'm not buying anything from a company with YUK in its name.

Would be nice to have wifi and a higher res screen, password login, and lastly, decent battery.

don't buy from them... they have horrible customer service (they failed to ship me my extra battery and would never answer my e-mails or calls).

Glass larger than 2-3 inches in diameter is hard to pocket, and it's like carrying around glass. The iAudio D2 captures what to me is a preferred form factor for PMP's well. From there I'd rather just move up to something that's at least 7-8 inches (portable DVD player), and then to 12 inches (laptop). Some of the gray areas in between (size wise) aren't really that useful. If you can't put it in your pocket, it may as well be 10 inches or more.

Make it 640x480 and we MIGHT have a deal.
