Hands-on with Fujitsu Siemens' new laptops and LCD
IFA hasn't really been heavy on the computers from the bigger names, but Fujitsu Siemens thought it'd take a crack with its AMILO Xi 2428 and 2528 laptops. The two are certainly decent in the looks department, if nothing stellar, and shouldn't turn many heads for good or bad reasons in a crowded room of consumer laptops. We found the new SCALEOVIEW Q22W-1 display to be a bit distractingly shiny, but it does seem to match up nicely with Vista.

So you type on the laptop by standing over it or by using a whackamole hammer?

@The Monitor
the perspective is making the laptop looking bigger than the guy, get it?
It was interesting to see the Panasonic laptops being used on the excellent Panasonic exhibit at IFA this year (IMHO). The laptops were branded Let's Note (for the Japan domestic market), but had English keyboards (no Japanese kana). Fujitsu-Siemens had a decent display, but this show was really for consumer electronics and not for computers.
Very weird looking.
