NTT DoCoMo's Wellness Navigator thinks you're fat, smell funny
When you don't have any friends and your robot has been locked up for "juicing granny," there's always the Wellness Navigator ready to give it to you straight. The NTT DoCoMo / Mitsubishi device is said to include a pedometer and pulse rate monitor while measuring such social taboos as bad breath and body fat content. We assume it makes phone calls too. No pricing or availability yet, but we're pretty sure it will ship with a free subscription to Cosmo and a one-week "starter pack" of diet pills.

"If you have to use this in public, you automatically fail."
dude... don't borrow that phone
YAAY...chindogu.
Would phone manufacturers PLEASE make a wireless device who's PRIMARY function is a phone. And not only a phone, one that has ample volume in the earpiece, doesn't sound like you are talking in a well, and connects with a BT headset correctly.
I don't care if a wireless phone is a fricking swiss army knife, but PLEASE, if you are going to short sell the phone side of it, STOP selling them as a PHONE.
As dumb as this sounds, I think most of the people on Engadget rarely use their phone as a 'phone' at all. It's all about email, internet, sms, music, camera, video. Myself included.
How simple does it have to be? 1) Dial 2) Talk 3) Hang up. They've all pretty much got that down.
Some people are too simple minded. If you look at the market the #1 selling phone is good for just that. Besides if it wasn't smart to incorporate data service in phones, networks wouldn't spend so much on marketing it.

And p.s, omg want.
It's one of the best looking slider phones I've seen in a while. If it wants to tell me I look good and my breath is fresh then damn why not? No seriously strip all that social crap out and put a good OS on the device I would get one.
When I first read this I read 'pedometer' as 'pedo-meter'.
I though how would this tell if you were a pedophile?
But hey, this does seem like a niche market, but if you want something that does stuff like that then good for you, I guess...
...never been "juiced", thank you very much.
