Is Google trademarking Google PC?
For all you conspiracy buffs out there, you can now add a new chapter to your massive clip-book of JFK magic-bullet theories, alien abduction reports, and shape-shifting reptilian overlord photos. According to Trademork, a gentleman named David Liu -- who is apparently legal counsel for Google, Inc. -- has filed to protect the trademark "Google PC." The plot thickens when you learn that the address listed in the filing is 6363 Wilshire Blvd., which incidentally happens to be a five-story building in California with the word "Google" visible in the bottom floor window (which looks like a watermark to us, but you know how sneaky the Illuminati can be, denials notwithstanding). Collect the clues and crack the code... if you dare.

Google is al-kayduh!
um, good luck with that...
And good luck with your inability to recognize sarcasm ;)
same to you :)
The window has "Google" written on it... And "© 2007" is floating in the air besides that window... I'm telling you, those Illuminati guys never cease to amaze me!
Yep, it's a simple watermark from Google Maps, if you enter that address and select "Street View" then navigate westbound on Willshire you can clearly see the watermark once you zoom in to the building.
It's kind of amazing how people instantly points to a blurry name on the window but deliberately ignores the rest of the text, which happens to be just as visible (or "invisible" in this case), to "support" a wild rumor.
If Google was to release a desktop PC, it would change the world. If Google was going to change the world, they wouldn't call the product "Google PC".
The Poogle?
Hey, if google wanted to do that, they'd join Canonical by signing onto the next Ubuntu release for support. Then, maybe, release a phone using OpenMoko Linux.
I think it's only a matter of time.
In all seriousness, why the hell not? Google Video? iGoogle? Google Chat? G(oogle)Mail? Google Calendar? Google Docs? Google Maps? I could go on, but I think you get my drift. Naming things isn't exactly their strong suit.
They better, because you wouldn't want some other company owning it. it could seriously jeopardize there reputation should the company do something wrong.
what the HELL is a google pc? is google making an operating system? m
whoops, no m
You must be stoned to think it says Google on that window.
Shit, you caught me. :P
Remember, Google went after hardware/software etailer www.googlegear.com (now www.zipzoomfly.com). I think they are protecting the concept.
Or maybe it stands for Politically Correct. Or maybe Political Censorship, which means they are going to expand even further in China.
If Google released a Google PC it would be a thin client and the OS would pxe boot from Google hosted disk space over HTTP....OH wait...there was a Google Sumer of Code project that used boot from remote storage using HTTP? Weird that they called the PEX impementation "gPXE". Sure you might say they called it gPXE for "G"PL, but who knows......
It's a f***ing watermark...stop smoking the crack, please! :]
Not only is it a watermark, it says "©2007 Google".
Hmmm. Thats actually just less than a mile from my apt. I might have to go see the "watermark" for myself ;-)
You can do that without leaving your apt, just use Google Maps.
I, for one, welcome our GooglePC-toting, hovering-watermark-inducing, shape-shifting reptilian overlords
lame.
nice try though, haha
Where will they build a Google City?! I can't wait for that one. An congrats on Google for passing the 600usd mark.. finally.
I hate google fanboys even more than apple fanboys.
Dude that's my name!
But I thought the "magic bullet" theories were so called by disbelievers of the "official" version because they attempt to explain the official version, therefore making it sound magical. The disbeliever, AKA "conspiracy theorist", finds the bullet theories nearly, if not completely, impossible, and therefore sarcastically calls them magic. He would not be making such theories; those would be the people of the official version, explaining the one man hypothesis. Right?
back - and to the left.
whats a reptilian overlord?
I'm intrigued!
ooh OK I found Icke
cool!
I live less than a mile from that address. Strangely, there is indeed a Google office right near there with a big colorful "Google" sign and everything, but it's not at that address, it's at 604 Arizona Avenue. It's nothing too recent, it was there when I moved to Santa Monica about four months ago. I'm sure it's just one of their legal offices.
See:

Yeah, I'm also from Santa Monica but currently living in New York. I lived close to the 604 Arizona office and never thought twice about it. Dan, maybe you want to take a clearer picture of this Wilshire address, or better yet sneak inside and snoop around? Pretty please...
Odd... a guy at Sager tech support is also David Liu. I'm sure this is a different guy, but it would be interesting if Google had plans to work with Sager to make a "Google PC..."
Look carefully at the photo. It says "(C)2007 Google" google watermarks all their photos when you use the google earth / google maps application. It's just a dynamic watermark put in by the application.
The new 200 dollar pc from Walmart, has gOS running on it. ( gOS is a ubuntu based linux distribution and uses alot of google apps ). The website for gos is thinkgos.com and the domain is owned by a David Liu in LA.
Another David Liu?
