Bissol unveils the world's smallest "luxury" flash drives
While any commoner can carry around 32GB of data in an ugly plastic flash drive nowadays, the discriminating gadget lover would much rather carry around 4GB of data in Bissol's luxury brass enclosure -- which the company is also touting as the "world's smallest 4GB flash drive." The .1-ounce ReadyBoost-compatible drive is machined in the same way as old-school Swiss watches, and come in your choice of original brass or nickel-plated finishes. No word on price, but we doubt you'll be finding these in the bargain bin anytime soon.

Im not sure i have anything worth putting on something that nice.

$260 with $38 shipping. If I ever get rich and own everything to a point that someone would consider buying this for me, I'd rather they gave the money to charity in my name. Give me a break.

People that vain, deserve to be mugged!
kevinm @ Oct 18th 2007 7:57PM
Agreed. That's unbelievably gaudy, you're just asking to be mugged. That 32gb drive in the generic case is the best security.

while it actually looks pretty nice, that's darn expensive.

If I was stinking rich I would definately get one, but my cheap Kingmax one will do for me.

I'd buy it...
Because I lose or leave flash drives like I lose pencils and pens. Minute I bought a $50 dollar pen 6 or so years ago I still have it to this day because it's too damn expensive to forget about.
Sure it's a stupid reason...but I'm paying for the psychological impact and emotional scarring of blowing $260 bucks on a flash drive!
Okay, really though. $260 dollars for a nickel plated flash drive? For that much I want it to tase people who tease me about my expensive flash drive.
Kasuro @ Oct 18th 2007 7:36PM
I'll take one. It'll match my Hummer H2, my 100-dollar dayrunner, and my 150-dollar laptop bag perfectly. It'll look nice sitting on my desk next to my 200 dollar pen as well.
(how much more vain can you get?)

Got my mother a leader Prestigio 512MB couple of years ago I remember.
It was cheap (for the time) yet looked tons better (and lighter) than a brass one.
ben @ Oct 18th 2007 7:49PM
looks bigger than this: http://www.engadget.com/2006/07/12/sonys-micro-vault-tiny-now-shipping-in-the-us/

The sure thing I prefer the ugly plastic 32 gigas!
skoochy @ Oct 18th 2007 9:24PM
I just ordered mine. Will report back when it arrives.
I keep killing the generic ones with plastic cases, so I've only been buying high quality metal-cased drives lately. And since microSD doesn't plug into my USB port, I would say it's not a "drive".
I can see where people would want something lighter and think that's good, but others prefer quality and oftentimes, in certain products, quality comes with weight (Vertu Ascent or Nokia 8600, or a Mercedes or Aston Martin).

Or you could get what this drive is based on.. Crucial Gizmo Jr. No adapter, no gimmicks, just a 4 GB USB drive that slides into your USB port and fits nicely on a keychain.

I'm sure you could make an enclosure for way cheaper that looks almost the same. Or at least some company could. No one is going to know if its real gold or not :P
