Dell teases the XPS One
We're not sure what suspense there is left to build around the XPS One -- we've already seen it naked before the harsh light of the FCC -- but Dell's not ready to let the magic die, and has posted a teaser slide for its new all-in-one up on Dell.com. Apparently the machine is "The end of the PC as you know it," which is definitely news to us, but hey, maybe we've known a lot of PCs. No more info than that, but interested parties can punch in their email addresses to receive info like ship dates...oh, we have those too. Damn. Well, it's a pretty picture, at least.

I'm not going to comment on the computer but seriously who wrote that drivel on the advertising site??
Maybe it's running Leopard.
That XPS One is absolutely hideous. I would go with the Gateway One before that.
Seriously Dell, Work on your hardware quality, and your looks, before coming out with new crap to shove into peoples faces.
Well, at least Gateway's keyboard still has the classic layout, with the arrow keys, Delete, home, end, ...etc, keys where where were supposed to be!
Uh...Hideous? You saw one in person or you are going by the all-knowing FCC pictures? Well, at least you make well informed decision.
The end of the PC Windows and the birth of the OS-X in Dell? hmmm...
I think they're referring to the hardware of PC's - not that software.
And a large # of user problems come from faulty crappy hardware. Like Vista running slow, hardware drivers not working, and a bazillion other stuff more related to the hardware configuration, than Windows itself.
I think maybe Dell and other PC companies are starting to realize this, and come out with better machines that actually work well for the user.
For now, I'll stick with my Sony Vaio.
If I wasn't a gamer I'd buy one of these if they weren't super expensive.
its the iDell!
Well duh!!
You can see it's a copy of an iMac.
Anyway self built PC > *
They should bust out with an "extreme" edition of the XPS One and piggyback a high-end comp to their 3007WFP-HC.
it looks like a pretty decent all in one pc to me.
the ad campaign might've worked better when....I dunno...after the original Matrix movie came out?? ooohh....The One is here!!!!!!!! Someone call Morpheus!
exactly what i was thinking!
but that leaves just one question... how will a computer beat a computer?
Yeah, i'll stick to building my own before I buy A) any mac or B) an all in one PC. If someone wants to force me to use their hardware package so I can have a pretty looking computer shell, they'll have to pry my screwdriver out of my cold, dead fingers.
There's an extremely large market for this. I know friends who have bought a new computer because theirs was too bogged down with viruses and they didn't know what was wrong (I like to make fun of them).
Now I'm definitely not one of those people. I don't even know what happen to the siding to my computer from it being off so much.
I think they should release a monitor/case that's empty and allows you to put in your own hardware. I think if someone made such a thing that looked well and had lots of places to tie up wires and utilize space they'd make a mint. After that was popular, then bring out your bare bone versions and start making some money on companies using your design.
But that's just me!
Wide open field for criticism and THAT'S the best you people can do?
iPedestrians.
Yea, Dell's been all about the teasers... first the Tablet XT, now this. If they could only satisfy instead of just tease.
At least when you go to "Nickel Nite" at a Tijuana Donkey Show you get what you pay for.
Give us a damn graphic card option on the tablet you crack whores!
the end of the pc as you know it, the continuation of the way apples knows it
what? no VESA mount?
It is a copy off the iMac. That is all there is to say. You can see the post the monitor is standing on and the speakers under it. Just like the Apple iMac.
oooh. its like a laptop.
but not a laptop.
..and bigger!
Who would seriously buy a Dell these days.
Uhhh the iMac uses laptop parts, this doesn't ?
You can't change stuff around in an iMac?
