PSP 3.80 update brings streaming audio, video scene search, and OPML support: December 18th

- RSS now supports OPML and pictures
- PSP-2000 owners with 1Seg tuners can use an EPG to schedule Japanese mobile television recordings

Yup, hopefully we'll see a custom version of this shortly after release, maybe even on Christmas day.

Theres no need to wait for custom firmware. The 3.80 kernel is identical to the 3.71 kernel.
You just install 3.71 Custom Firmware on your PSP, then just dump the files from the 3.80 update, and overwrite the changed files selectively in your 3.71 flash.

Strange - video scene search has been in the firmware for a while now... Have they radically changed it because the screenshot above looks the same as the current interface for scene searches...

so pretty much all we have to look forward to is the internet radio player and RSS with OPML support since we already have video scene search and the other two features are region based. they need to expand multitasking on the PSP such as playing music while browsing the internet or even while making changes to the PSP's settings.

Does that mean the people with the 1seg tuner can record to the memory card, or how does that work?
And is anyone else having problems with super-large print? I swear it feels like I'm in Giant World in SMB3. I know this is a PSP site, but it doesn't change how I feel.

How about the Playstation Store.. And while we're at it, since the PS3 apparently will be getting Divx Support how about rolling that out the PSP as well.

I haven't used a PSP in a while. Have they added an update yet that allows you to use a normal qwerty keyboard when entering data, as opposed to the stupid cell phone keypad system?

The internet radio better be able to stream windows media, I'd like to see some update to the browser to watch youtube, flash videos since it's only possible to do it via PS3 "That's Not Cool".

I wonder if that streaming refers to DLNA/uPnP streaming. That would be totally awesome that I have access to my collection on MediaTomb/FireFly that is also shared to both the PS3 and Roku Soundbridge.

I'v Been Tryin 2 Update My PSP 4 Months now, And I Cant Becuz EveryTime I Do, The Screen Changes And It Says, Game Could Not Be Found Or Load Or Sumthin And Then It Sed (DaDaDaDaDaDaDa), I Dont Know Wut 2 Do, I Dont Have A Warrenty Becuz I Bought It From Some Dude In New York Over EBay, I Need Help!!!
