The Queue: Bloody rare

Welcome back to The Queue, WoW Insider's daily Q&A column where the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft.

We had no maintenance today, what a pleasant surprise! Rolling Restart Tuesdays are always a nice breath of fresh air. Or wait, was that what regular maintenance Tuesdays are for? Hmm. I can't keep this 'fresh air' concept straight at all so let's just start on the Q&A.

Can you explain exactly how rare spawns in Northrend work? I've heard multiple theories - from "Every 20 or so hours for spawn," to "Only one rare mob is alive at a time, and the next one doesn't spawn until that one dies," etc.

They don't all work the same. Some of the are on a timer, like you said. Some of them have a cooldown and a shared spawn. Others are just rare and have something like an 0.00005% chance to spawn when you kill other things. That last number there was completely made up to get the point across, by the way. Don't take it as fact.

The easiest thing to do is just look up each specific rare spawn you're chasing. Use Wowhead, Wowwiki, whatever you need to find the info you're looking for. There's really no hard rule as to how they all work, they vary.

As a Fury Warrior dual-wielding 2-handers thanks to Titan's Grip, what is my hitcap? I do have Precision which gives me a 3% chance to hit bonus. I haven't been able to find definitive numbers about what my hit cap will be at level 80. Thanks for the help!

The Fury Warrior hitcap is 14%, and the 3% from Precision brings it down to 11% for your yellow damage. In terms of hit rating, that'd be 361 rating. The white damage hit cap is higher due to the off-hand penalty of dual-wielding, but you don't even need to worry about it. Your white damage will be good enough to keep up your rage generation, and most of your Titan's Grip DPS will come from your special attacks.

361 is your magic number.

Hey, I was wondering where the best places to farm Eternals are?

If your faction owns Wintergrasp and you're willing to brave the PvP, it rules for Eternal farming. Every single kind of Eternal can be acquired there when you own the zone. It's pretty good inspiration to fight there, I think. Rally your friends and jump into the battle!

Beyond that? Keep an eye on the site, we'll have something more in-depth really soon. Like, super duper soon.

Why is it that items received from Darkwater Clams don't stack? After slaughtering Oracles for Wolverines! rep, all my bags are full. Single pieces of clam meat, everywhere. Plus the occasional pearl. Is there a simple macro or interface setting to stack it all up?

This is something that started happening after last Tuesday's maintenance I believe, so I'm guessing it was an 'oops' introduced by a hotfix somewhere else. You can't flip the On and Off switch on clam meat stacking in your UI or anything. I don't think there's a macro to automatically stack items either, though I could be wrong on that bit. I'm not very creative with my macros. I'm sure this is something they'll fix in the next patch though, so just grin and bear it for now and don't fret too much. It just means you should leave the poor gorlocs alone!
