HD video clips from R.E.M. available for download
Band R.E.M. is kicking off its new album, "Accelerate," by making HD video content available for download over the next 90 days. Each day, a new 30 - 90-second, 1920x1080-pixel clip will be posted to the ninetynights website for your downloading pleasure. Based on what we've seen so far, we can't say that the material really pushes our HD buttons, though -- it's very grainy black and white handheld shot with some droning machine noise. Rumor has it that fans of an archivist bent will be able to piece together all 90 clips to make a cohesive film, so here's to hoping that later clips give a glimpse into R.E.M.'s return to their guitar-based sound.
