Samsung launches first Blue Wave firmware upgrades for P2 and T10 PMPs
Samsung's delivering its promised P2 and T10 firmware updates that finally unleash the Bluetooth capabilities of the devices. More updates are promised down the line, but this first round of the "Blue Wave" allows Bluetooth-based file transfers, as well as phone integration. You can manage most phone functions from your DAP -- including making calls and browsing the contact list -- as well as have your music interrupted by incoming calls. Not a bad start at all, Samsung.

I really love my P2. And it keeps getting better.

I jut got my Yepp P2 last week and I love it, but that firmware has been out for awhile now. I though they were going to be announcing a new one at CES :(

tcardone05 @ Jan 6th 2008 6:18PM
Well the iPhone already does this.
Oh wait...

How do I make my P2 UMS?
aldo @ Jan 6th 2008 9:50PM
The firmware came out like mid-December, so we're actually waiting for the next version to come out (which is supposed to be a big revamp of the UI).
Steven: The add-on will have support for micro-sd, along with fm tuner and some other things.
Bolster: You can pretty much use any firmware from any region, I have the Korea firmware right now (for the dictionary and such).
Valgas: You have to download the firmware file that has a config.dat file and update the file and change MTP to UMS (anythingbutipod forums has instructions).

With the new firmware, can I connect the P2 to the cellphone AND to a Bluetooth wireless headset at the same time? And be able to make/answer call from the headset
Thx
ezra hilyer @ Jan 24th 2008 8:14AM
yes you can, I have the p2, and you can be connected to multiple devices at the same time.

A 16gb P2 is coming out this year.
And comparing the P2 to the Iphone is just wrong, because the iphone is a phone, and the P2 is a pmp. Comparing the P2 to the Touch is more reasonable.
