Everex CloudBook delayed again
Come on Everex, first the CloudBook would be available on January 25th, then February 15th, now the 25th? And to think that you announced this before the Eee PC. How can we trust you? Here, take back your ring, this ol' girl can't wait forever. Update: Uh, Everex, please put down the Whiskey. Now your site says 1/25/2008 at Wal-mart.com. Definitely no CloudBook at Wallys.
[Thanks, JAmerican]

Delays a few days before release always spell trouble for the system. Kinda dissapointing, I wanted it to come out. Wanted to put gOS on my EEE.
Chebwa @ Jan 30th 2008 9:35AM
What Wikipedia refers to as the "definitive second version" of gOS is (supposedly) debuting at the end of February. This delay might actually be working in favor of your gOS plans. =)

Citation needed, but, whatever.

Instead of waiting, you could just get one of its near clones (if you're in the UK, at least. Don't know what the situation is like elsewhere), like this one for example

That phone attachment thing just looks *terrible*. I don't even get why they included it if the article is correct in saying the device has bluetooth. So they could have centered the screen and stuck a bluetooth headset or similar in the box.

Do I want to wait for this, or should I buy an eee?
DrXym @ Jan 30th 2008 8:13AM
Personally I think the Eee looks nicer, but I'm biased because I own one already. I think the larger storage of the Cloudbook might make it more useful to some people.
shoeshine @ Jan 30th 2008 8:22AM
Depends on your needs. If you only need something for taking notes/word processing and email, then the EEE should be fine. If you want something that you can store some stuff on, get the cloudbook. If you want something you can mod the hell out of, get the EEE.
I have an EEE and love it to death. I'm going to get my mom a Cloudbook though, because she'd be using it as her main computer and needs the hard drive space for her software. I'll be upgrading her to XP on that baby.

Well what did you expect? It's got vaporware built right into the name!
x94scorp @ Jan 30th 2008 8:30AM
Note that the site says the original 1/25 date and not 2/25. Granted, they may really mean 2/25. Hope they are just doing some updating.

Maybe they're taking this time to move the trackpad to a reasonable location and make it a usable size!

You dont really understand the point of these laptops, oh well, your loss. I just hope they come out soon, at least it gives me time to scrape up some money for it.
Rob @ Jan 30th 2008 7:26PM
it says 2/15 now on their website....

This might be old news but the cloudbook is now available online at walmart.
