AT&T wireless data outages hit the Midwest, other areas

We're getting reports from all over that AT&T customers are having trouble with 3G and EDGE data. A majority of the complaints are coming from the Midwest / Chicago areas, where things seem to be down entirely, but we've also heard from folks as far away as Florida. Team Engadget hasn't hit any snags in New York or Vegas where we're currently situated, but let us know if you're having troubles wherever you might be -- and what color crayon to use for this fancy "threat level" printout we've got pinned to the wall.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Still down here in Chicago, although I wonder if I should call AT&T and DEMAND them credit my account one billion, kajillion dollars!!! LOL. You know for this MASSIVE nationwide inconvience.
3G is out on my iPhone.

we've got no 3G in Washington DC but EDGE is working still
No problems with EDGE. There was an outage last week with EDGE. My iPhone woudn't activate. (Washinton DC area- Northern Virginia
I'm in northern indiana and my data service is kaput on my iphone. Thank goodness I don't have to leave the warmth of my house.
On an EDGE device having no problems in Boston. Color me green.

edge is completely dead in chicagoland right now. nothing. at all. zero.
I am in Fort Lauderdale, FL and have had problems all morning. Service returned about 30 minutes ago. I thought it may be my phone at first because it would locate and lose 3G network every 2 second, basically causing the 3G logo to flicker in the corner of my display. Annoying, and hopefully over.

Kansas City and Lawrence have no Edge. I suggest threat level orange... or is it blue?
Edge working fine for me in Chicago.

Dulles, VA area has 3G going fine. Fairfax, VA is out though.

i have edge here in cullman, alabama and its been down a lot this past two months. my iphone says that edge is temporarily out of service

Seriously though...NWBurbs of Chicago, IL here...and since I woke up this morning, "Could not activate Edge" has been the theme so far for my iPhone.

In Madison, Wi and having problems with EDGE.
3g/edge out in Florida but they just switched it back on.
Louisville, KY is out as far as I can tell. My iphone can't connect to EDGE when trying to retrieve from gmail.
I was having edge and 3g issues this morning in Tampa, FL but it seems OK now.

Here at Hanover Park (about an hour outside the city) its down. I am a Cincinnati Bell Customer on Cingular (now ATT) roaming and its not working

Getting "Sorry! MEdia Net is experiencing technical difficulties. Some features are temporarily unavailable. Continue." In Orange County, California. Seems to work when continuing through the error, though.
edge went down in seattle last night.
Just kidding MEdia Net is now completely down for me as well. Looks like it's reached to Southern California!

South elgin Il no problems with edge network. Friend of mine called me from O Hare stating its been down since his drive from algonquin to O Hare.
No Edge in Denver! Might as well be in airplane mode!

Guess that means it was down at about 8:00 when I was coming in to work, too.
Edge has been dead since 7:30 this morning from Chicago's west burbs all the way out to Rockford. What a dreary train ride that was this morning!!!!

They are aware of the issue and the fix is "pending," which could mean nothing.
The tech I spoke with has no idea what they will do about billing.
I am in Chicago, west-loop area. The tech said that "Illinoise" (pronounced the "S") is out altogether.

South Central PA here. EDGE icon but unable to send MMS, regular text is fine though. Been having this problem since last night. Sammy A-707. Any one else having this problem. Error message reads "Sending Failed. No response" One time the phone did revert back to GPRS but it failed also.
Out in RTP, NC at last notice.
In Chicagoland area and GPRS is still down.
No EDGE (don't know about the 3G, iPhone FTW) here in the University of Illinois Area. Urbana-Champaign. This started last night, then, I thought it was the phone. Oops.
I've been having trouble for at least a week with EDGE on T-Mobile's network. Only getting GPRS 95% of the time on my dash and my Nokia 6263. Have a trouble shooting ticket open with T-Mobile. WOnder if these issues are related?
