AT&T wireless data outages hit the Midwest, other areas

We're getting reports from all over that AT&T customers are having trouble with 3G and EDGE data. A majority of the complaints are coming from the Midwest / Chicago areas, where things seem to be down entirely, but we've also heard from folks as far away as Florida. Team Engadget hasn't hit any snags in New York or Vegas where we're currently situated, but let us know if you're having troubles wherever you might be -- and what color crayon to use for this fancy "threat level" printout we've got pinned to the wall.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Still down here in Chicago, although I wonder if I should call AT&T and DEMAND them credit my account one billion, kajillion dollars!!! LOL. You know for this MASSIVE nationwide inconvience.
3G is out on my iPhone.

we've got no 3G in Washington DC but EDGE is working still
No problems with EDGE. There was an outage last week with EDGE. My iPhone woudn't activate. (Washinton DC area- Northern Virginia
I'm in northern indiana and my data service is kaput on my iphone. Thank goodness I don't have to leave the warmth of my house.
On an EDGE device having no problems in Boston. Color me green.

edge is completely dead in chicagoland right now. nothing. at all. zero.
I am in Fort Lauderdale, FL and have had problems all morning. Service returned about 30 minutes ago. I thought it may be my phone at first because it would locate and lose 3G network every 2 second, basically causing the 3G logo to flicker in the corner of my display. Annoying, and hopefully over.

Kansas City and Lawrence have no Edge. I suggest threat level orange... or is it blue?

Dulles, VA area has 3G going fine. Fairfax, VA is out though.
No Edge in San Diego...
i have edge here in cullman, alabama and its been down a lot this past two months. my iphone says that edge is temporarily out of service

Seriously though...NWBurbs of Chicago, IL here...and since I woke up this morning, "Could not activate Edge" has been the theme so far for my iPhone.

In Madison, Wi and having problems with EDGE.
3g/edge out in Florida but they just switched it back on.
Louisville, KY is out as far as I can tell. My iphone can't connect to EDGE when trying to retrieve from gmail.
I was having edge and 3g issues this morning in Tampa, FL but it seems OK now.
3G down in the greater Indianapolis area. Still out as of 12:30pm.

Mid morning (11:35 local CST) and still no EDGE access from a Nokia 6300 in Central Illinois.
Here at Hanover Park (about an hour outside the city) its down. I am a Cincinnati Bell Customer on Cingular (now ATT) roaming and its not working
