It's 12:00, do you know where your Wiimotes are?
CYBER Gadget is really blowing our mind with this new battery-powered Wii sensor bar. Not only can it detect the motion of your Wii Remote via the magic of infrared, but it can also detect the motion of time as it flows through the fourth dimension. And all for a mere $18? A veritable steal.

Not bad. This bar looks better than the nyko version. And @ a lower price as well.
Wow, this is even more impressive than the $30 Chinese EMF blocker that somehow stops atoms from movement, thus shielding users from any and all EMF. This fourth-dimension measurer, or "chrono-meter" as I shall call it, will revolutionize science as we know it!
I still don't see the need (in my case anyway) for a wireless sensor bar. I can see how it would be handy for some - but I'm Wiiing along just fine with the wired one. This one does have a little style to it though, with the clock and all.
Projection?
Awesome, now my DVD player will have someone to talk to about how great 12:00 is.
I for one found the above comment amusing. It brightened up my day for all of approximately 3 seconds before I realised I had work to do and I was just putting it off....
:(
wow, you realize this much faster than I usually do...
it seems like the wiimote is the most versatile object known to mankind
i would give it employee of the year honors ahead of the inanimate carbon rod !!!
best. product description. ever.
missing. a. period.
"...detect the motion of your Wii Remote via the magic of infrared"
The sensor bar doesn't detect anything; it's just 4 IR LEDs. The Wiimote has the IR sensor.
Yeah... selling wireless sensor bars is dumb. all you need is a pair of candles or some infra red LEDS and a battery from a DIY shop...
@Pheonix
No, BUYING a wii sensor bar is dumb. SELLING one is genius.
(for the record I don't think buying one is dumb either....who wants candles burning near their TV everytime they want to get their Wii on?)
chllaaax bro. Most engadget readers know how the wiimote works. It's all good. Just let it slide.
I'm going to have to admit my ignorance here. I'm confused as to what this thing actually does. Why do you need a Wiimote sensor bar? What is its function? I assume something happens in all the negative and unnecessary black space around the crappy little clock?
Oh wait! I feel really stupid now. I think I get it. It's an IR sensor you connect to the Wii so that your Wiimote has a better line of sight? Did I get it?
The sensor bar contains infra-red LEDs, 4 at each end if I'm not mistaken... or maybe 2 at each end. whatever. it's not the issue.
The Wii Remote has a camera in the end that picks up the infra-red and therefore works out where the remote is pointing in relation to your sensor bar.
This is designed to be placed under or above your TV so the remote can work out where on the TV it is pointing
you can, however, have the sensor bar nowhere near your TV, or use a home-made LED system, or some candels
no, you didn't get it. The Wii remote is the infra red sensor. the sensor bar is the EMITTER
I see. Not being a Wii owner, or even having played with one, I didn't realize that it required a 'sensor bar'.
I agree with Randomness, it isn't a 'sensor bar' if it doesn't actually contain any sensors. This sentence is what threw me off of what this thing actually is: "Not only can it detect the motion of your Wii Remote via the magic of infrared..."
so far the only use i found for the wireless bar is when i pack the wii up and bring to other peoples houses
Wait, one more question about this. If it only emits LED, why do the pictures (which are the only part that do any good for me) on the website show a USB cable attached to it? What would you use the USB for?
I'll answer myself again. It must be to use as a power supply instead of the batteries?
I swear I have no idea why I'm so curious about this seeing as how I don't even have a Wii and if I did, wouldn't care.
Probably charging. The Wii has USB ports.
However, if they wanted to be convincing they'd use the actual Wii sensor bar power output...
Considering it's such a tiny article, it makes me crazy that there are issues with the only two things being said:
1) The bar cannot track your wiimote, as mentioned in the rest of the comments
2) Even if you subscribe to the assumption that time is the fourth dimension (which it's not http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourth_dimension ), a clock is not tracking anything in that dimension
For some reference, I point you to: http://www.xkcd.com/386/
LOL... I need that (from the link) on a t-shirt.
Umm, if time isn't the forth dimension, then why does this sentence exist in the very wiki article you link to:
"The fourth dimension is often identified with time in physics, and as such is used to explain the non-Euclidean space-time used in Einstein's theories of special relativity and general relativity."
Time is the "Einsteinian" fourth dimension.
I like the way the 12:00 in the picture so iconically shows you that just like your VCR, this thing is going to be way too hard to set the time on to bother setting the time. It has an added feature: reminding you what comes after 11.
When people learn it's Wii Remote not Wiimotes .
Extreme idiots .
Every time people say Wiimote i laugh at tmere mere stupity .
Yeah, it's like when people say "e-mail" instead of "electronic mail" or "A/C" instead of "air conditioner." What a bunch of morons.
iTouch and Wiimote FTW!
Slow day Paul?
