Optimus mini 3.0 could sport Bluetooth, touchscreen
Those crazies over at Art Lebedev are starting work on a new Optimus mini 3.0 device, which will likely include Bluetooth for wireless operation and possibly Tactus-esque touchscreen capability. The plan is to have one display divided into three or possibly more zones, but right now it sounds like they're still planning on having the device be AC-powered (boo, hiss). Apparently the current Optimus mini is getting a lot of use as a PowerPoint controller. Who knew? Pictures will be forthcoming, says the official blog.

adding a touchscreen just makes it a tiny little touch device that does not stand out
The whole novelty of these overpriced things is the fact that it is a keyboard with screens on the keys, not just a big touchscreen that can display a keyboard, plenty of devices do that
vypergts @ Mar 10th 2008 8:38PM
It might be worth it if it was more like some of the SideShow devices that cost a third of this thing...
stitifier @ Mar 10th 2008 8:40PM
It's one of those things that I could have absolutely no use for, but would buy if it were like, say $20. Of course, seeing as how expensive the actual full-blown keyboard was, I'd expect this to be, say, $200. And AC power? Puh-leeze. Any elegance such a product as this ostensibly would have had would be instantly drained by the presence of another ugly cord.

woohoo!!! Another 2 chicks at 1 time button :D
ScareyJ @ Mar 10th 2008 9:13PM
Thats the button that'll cause a recall of this thing. You just know within a week ... everyone is going to be returning it because that button sticks.
lanejasper69 @ Mar 10th 2008 8:44PM
AC Power? NOT! LAME, bad option!!!!
The only reason corporate "Powerpoint Gurus" are using their overpriced Optimus is because they want to show it off at their lil corporate meeting to all the big wigs. Me, I just drop my pants and flash my own version of L.E.D. Become famous, feed a 3rd world country instead of buying this keyboard!!!! Be a Man!

It says "a a" which should be "as a".
I'd buy it probably because I can afford the keyboard and this is the next best thing. Lol.

Excuse me. .......just one question.
Got a smartphone WinMo/ Symbian? if yes, buy a nice app called SallingClicker for just $20 and install it on your lappie. Use it to control your pc (mouse) , play itunes, etc, use it as a PRESENTER'S best friend. In addition, look as geeky as you can during the presentation with your phone....make pple wonder what the heck? how is he doing that?
