A cable has to have a certain something to cause optical interrupt to these trade-show weary eyes. Then this comes along, the Plug It USB adapter. We doubt it's the "world's smallest" USB charging and data cable as they claim. Nevertheless, it's definitely convenient and small enough to be slung from your keys or even that eyelet found on many mobile devices including most cellphones. At the moment, it's available in a handful of proprietary models for connecting to a wide range of Samsung and Nokia devices. A mini USB version allows it to connect to just about everything else including BlackBerrys, cameras, PMPs, MP3 players, etc etc. Well, except that iPod in your pocket. Available now for about €8/$12 -- video demonstration after the break.

I like how they make the adapter make it look like a key!
This would prove useful for anyone who forgot to charge their X gadget /device during the night, such as, errr.... me *ahem*

That is effing awesome.
Damnit, Sony Ericsson, why can't you use mini-USB like every other phone company that matters?
Steve @ Mar 10th 2008 5:39AM
Does someone have an url where to buy it?
Yubastard @ Mar 10th 2008 5:44AM
errr... to milk you of your hard earned money? they suck, I know...
Charlotte @ Mar 10th 2008 5:42AM
But it begs the question - why NOT the iPod?
pallavnarang @ Mar 10th 2008 6:08AM
Not till they pay the ipod tax!
austin @ Mar 10th 2008 4:50PM
probably because of the size of the ipod connector. it wouldnt fit with the other side. that could be why they dont have a zune one either

HA... they want your SSN to register to buy one! Yeah right... I think I will not put my correct SSN in that field.
Ondra Soukup @ Mar 10th 2008 6:24AM
ordered one right away, they seem to be reasonably priced (unlike other cool gadgets:)
i may finally trash the bulky long cable i'm carrying around only for my card reader
ric @ Mar 10th 2008 9:54AM
I want.
However, only seem to be available from gsmtraders. Who want your SSN, and if paying via Paypal, a photocopy of your ID.
This rings alarm bells...

I just placed an order there and used "NA" as my SSN (as I don't have
one, being from the UK and all) I also payed with Paypal and I didn't
see anything about a photocopy of my ID.

Make one for the iPod and i'm sold !!
Chris @ Mar 10th 2008 5:37PM
hm, I'd like to see one for real instead of an animation, the animation doesn't make sense because to show them plugging together, but the plugs are incompatible.
TIMMAH! @ Mar 10th 2008 6:21PM
Those are kinda cool. I like the fact that it uses a right-angle connector. Does anyone know where I might be able to get a longer cable that utilizes a right-angle connector on the computer end? My notebook has USB connectors in the most inconvenient places on the sides and it'd be nice to plug in stuff as flat as possible.

They have had this kind of strap for quite a while:
http://www.cyberguys.com/templates/SearchDetail.asp?productID=16238
They also have a neck strap version:
http://www.cyberguys.com/templates/SearchDetail.asp?productID=16239
These two are cheaper, and I like this store because they don't take your cvc code!!!
Susan @ Mar 11th 2008 5:33AM
Taylor, no one needs at www.gsm-traders.com send any copy of nothing, but a fact is that paypal does not cover any seller who is sending goods to any unconfirmed paypal adress. So now you can tell me if it is normal that some one with adress in USA or UK does not have a confirmed adress? I don't think so...
Optional payment methods are: Bank Transfer, Western Union and MoneyGramm
Best Regards,
Susan

Damn, I want one of these for my crappy LG phone :(
geekbits @ Mar 11th 2008 4:52PM
wow, what a fantabulous website; blaringly awesome music with no way to turn it off AND crappy low-res flashing pictures of their own products flashing everywhere. website etiquette people, please!
the product design itself is enticing, though.

for a "wide range of Samsung and Nokia devices". Sorry, but that's a Motorola RAZR in the picture...
