Just in case you missed it, the Verizon XV6900, Motorola Q9c, and LG enV(2) are all finally launched on Verizon. Head on over to Engadget Mobile for the full details.
Verizon has a history of taking over a year to launch anything resembling a modern PDA phone/smart phone, so it is big news for anyone shackled to Verizon's service due to coverage, work, family plans, etc.
I've come to the conclusion Verizon has the worst line-up of phones, and I see touch screens as a gimmick/nuisance more than anything, so there goes the venus and voyager.
I'll give it to VZW, their phone lineup may be....lack but the quality of their service truly does offset this, at least where I live. Also, their lineup is saturated with LGs and Samsungs, please, how about some good manufactuers. Maybe it's just me, but LGs and Samsungs have features that make me want to buy the phone, but once I play with them, I realized how much of a one-trick pony it is.
---
Also, to be fair, if we are giving awards for crappy phone lineups, VZW is easily beaten by TMobile--I mean the Telekom's whose name shall not be spoken, who which has no affiliation with Engadget® or its subsidaries nor Weblogs, Inc. Network.
True true, AT&T has everyone beaten. Iphone (not my style but a good phone nontheless), Ericcsons, good things. And yeah, verizons service is pretty good, but that doesnt excuse mediocre phones.
Well I have the EnV2 (LG VX9100M) cause I didnt want to pay for a data plan, and also I am tied to Verizon family/work etc - It has some annoying UI problems but its great for texting. Verizon handset lineup sucks a dirty wet gym sock but their customer service is tops for sure. I HATE the fact that I can't have a Nokia handset from them (WTF is up with that??!?!).
I use the Nokia N810 for "smart phone" uses and although I drool at things like the E71 The EnV2 serves my needs just fine. I HATE the fact that Verizon (and others) - when after raping you financially having already bought the handset and the monthly service, rapes you again when wanting to use simple features (from email to web usage and their joke that is V cast or other mobile equivalent)
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Ugh, how long is this going to last...
Wait... I stand corrected? This is... REAL?
Meh, no slide-out keypad on the touch = no sale for me. Looks like the XV6800 will be my next device after all.
If you can do without the hardware keyboard, this is a far superior phone.

Lets bring back those gigantic Vietnam Satellite phones! I'll say that'll strike a new trend.
why do we need a reminder of this non-news?
more importantly, they werent launched. they were announced
Yeah, just a slightly important distinction.
