SCEE confirms: Grand Theft Auto IV PS3 bundle headed to Europe
Just in case a cameo on some Swedish e-tailer's site wasn't enough proof for you, Sony has confirmed that all of our hopes and dreams are coming true... in Europe. Yep, the blokes and dames across the pond will be able to snag a special edition PlayStation 3 bundle with Grand Theft Auto IV (and a SIXAXIS wireless controller) bundled in for €439 ($696). Beyond that (and the way cool box), everything else looks to be the standard fare -- pick one up if you wish on April 29th.

Should have been bundled with a DS3.
Eddie @ Apr 23rd 2008 1:54PM
Fact. It annoys me that I have to wait so long to get a bundled ps3 and ds3 t.t
Vlad @ Apr 23rd 2008 1:25PM
this will never come stateside. the Metal Gear Solid bundle is the driving force here in the US and capcom is paying good money to sony to keep it that way.
maff @ Apr 23rd 2008 1:39PM
i'm sure a GTAIV bundle would do just as well!
ridv34 @ Apr 23rd 2008 1:47PM
Capcom? MGS series is made by Konami.

I just got a promo e-mail from Sony saying that the GTA IV bundle will be released here in New Zealand soon. I guess that this is probably the only time EVER that we have pipped the US market.
rv @ Apr 23rd 2008 8:21PM
New Zealand??
What the fuck was the original zealand
/sarcasm
True_Darknight @ Apr 23rd 2008 1:31PM
Its sooo dumb that they didn't bring this stateside,....
then again Rockstar prob didn't have enough copies to put in there :)
kal326 @ Apr 23rd 2008 6:03PM
If it were price accordingly, like $439 maybe, and not the euro equvilant.
Do I look indie yet? @ Apr 23rd 2008 1:33PM
Will it come out in the UK? (I assume that we'll be completely ripped off so there is no reason to even bother doing a currency conversion)
maff @ Apr 23rd 2008 1:41PM

Anything special/different about the actual PS3 included? (ie, MGS has a gunmetal grey PS3)
Andy @ Apr 23rd 2008 2:34PM
Actually the gunmetal one is limited edition seprately from the bundle. The bundle is a regular 80gb.
Scott @ Apr 23rd 2008 2:13PM
Why couldn't they do this with the 80gb in the States? I'm waiting patiently to get the MGS4 80gb bundle when it's released...but it's not until friggin' June!
Anand @ Apr 23rd 2008 2:13PM
Looks like a sweet bundle...but only 40GB. Come on Sony. We're about to go Grand theft on your @$$ for that!!!
Chebwa @ Apr 23rd 2008 2:24PM
"Way cool" box...?
Isn't that just the game's box art... on a different box?
holycow @ Apr 23rd 2008 2:29PM
This made my Spiderman 3 box cry...
MadMike @ Apr 23rd 2008 3:44PM
What confuses me - Sony nix's the high-end PS3's with the PS2 capability and the extra USB ports because people were going for the cheaper 40Gb - yet they just completely leave out the extra USB ports and the PS2 capability.
Obviously people do not want to pay for it, so they get rid of it completely We should get it for free. Sony is just now making a profit on the PS3 thanks to the smaller Cell processor and cheaper fab process - they can't give us two more USB ports? USB ports aren't expensive.
The PS2 capability can be added from a quick software update.
Does anyone know if a USB hub works with the PS3?
cduran01 @ Apr 23rd 2008 4:59PM
A USB hub and USB memory card readers work on a PS3.

A few days ago I was surprised to find that most of the GTA series is developed by a studio in Scotland!
Before that Rockstar North meant nothing to me.
Toph @ Apr 23rd 2008 5:34PM
PlayStation 3 bundle with Grand Theft Auto IV? Judging by the box design, it looks more like Grand Theft Auto IV bundle with PlayStation 3...
