Video: Digital Cowboy's spy pen camcorder
See the camera? Good, neither will the person you're spying on. That's Digital Cowboy's latest take on the digital spy pen. The ¥17,800 (about $175) DVR-BP features a 1-mm pinhole CMOS camera, mic, 2-hour battery, and 2GB of memory to store all your video deceit at 352 x 288 pixels and 15fps. Coming April 24th to a GAP changing room near you. Sample video of a uh, pussy cat after the break.

That was a lame "pussy video" trick you pulled on us
xSwamp @ Apr 24th 2008 2:55AM
Here i was expecting p0rn.
Schfelzerberg @ Apr 24th 2008 2:11AM
Q: 007, you were supposed to capture a video of the terrorist boss in the casino, not pr0n!
007: Pr0n? Look at that guy whipping those bitches, he's the boss. Blame the shitty QCIF resolution.
Q: QC... I... what? Whatever. Oh fiddlesticks. Stupid cheap camera sensor.
Schfelzerberg @ Apr 24th 2008 2:13AM
CIF resolution. My bad. Still shitty though unless you're using it to upload YouTube quality pr0n.
smk @ Apr 24th 2008 3:19AM
You mean pornotube, right? oops.
OVerclockerX @ Apr 24th 2008 2:21AM
lol, the cat ran away.
This pen/camera actually isn't too bad
youngcalihottie @ Apr 27th 2008 9:04PM
not bad at all... ...if you want everyone to sound like aliens. lol. listen to the vids. any sound is like its coming from space. :P
Jeff @ Apr 24th 2008 11:24AM
no kidding... looks as good or better (or even MUCH better) than like 95% of the cameraphones out there...
Speeddemon2008 @ Apr 24th 2008 2:41AM
looks better than some cell phone cams. not bad.
max @ Apr 24th 2008 2:49AM

thats the 1 gb model
BowserUSC @ Apr 24th 2008 3:16AM
So the camera is that little dot right above the clip, right?
Not that hard to spot, at least I'd wonder what it is if I didn't assume it was a camera.
Armoured @ Apr 24th 2008 4:22AM
First thing I'll do is open it up and take out the camera and use it for other things I have always wanted to do...
evldead123 @ Apr 24th 2008 4:59AM
remember youtube compresses the hell out of their vids too. so the quality might not be quite as bad as it looks.
maff @ Apr 24th 2008 7:18AM
new HQ mode on youtube should rectify this, surprised they didn't use it for this video, sheesh!
Cassini @ Apr 24th 2008 7:25AM
They need to make the video 30fps. And they could adjust the shape or dimensions of the pen so it could accept microSD cards.
superfresh @ Apr 24th 2008 8:06AM
Done.

Um, Super, the product you provided a link to? That's not a pen. Naturally, we can get the specs I mentioned in standard video camera. I'm talking about integrating those two features in this pen.
Joe @ Apr 24th 2008 8:14AM
Congratulations on spamming a site that doesn't exist.
Alex Moyler @ Apr 24th 2008 8:57AM
Is there an alien landing somewhere in the background?
takamaru @ Apr 24th 2008 9:53AM
Aww that cat was cute! Oh, wait...
sam @ Apr 24th 2008 12:10PM
anyone know where i can buy one of these?
godseyesore @ Apr 24th 2008 1:32PM
If that image is definitive, the pen is WORTHLESS.
coleman @ Apr 24th 2008 8:58PM
So...would it seem odd if I carried this pen on, say, my shoe?
Kidding?
kg1 @ Apr 25th 2008 12:09AM
Will the camera still work if I use it to stab someones eye out? I mean "allegedly" stab said eye out.
ThePete @ Apr 25th 2008 4:31AM
Yeah, what they don't tell you is that the pen is actually the size of a bottle of wine.
How about a shot of the camera pen in the mirror for scale, 007? Hmmm?
That *is* some hot pussy, though...
David Gilmour @ Apr 25th 2008 4:51PM
Yeah, but can it write on paper as well?
